they're taking him away for a ski weekend. That's the big secret. All this mess over a weekend away skiing.

And p.s. Michele - I am SO jealous that you're done work now until your wedding! I would love to have the time off and just feel like I've got hte time to get my home life in order again!

ShortNSweet.

Thank you so much for the view of Las Vegas. What a beauty!! I will definitely have to make a trip down there.

What a good idea about the time shares. We have no interest in those so we'd have to problem with 'NO' but more then willing to listn for an hour and half to get great deals.

Thanks for the idea!!

Well, I am glad you found out so you can stop worrying and focus on other things. At some point, your friends should have seen how this was affecting you (like your sister did) and stopped playing games.

Meghan!! so glad the secret is out, but I agree...I'd still hold a little grudge against friends who wouldn't tell me, Your Sis is awesome! Ski weekend, huh.

Thanks suzy, I love yours too!! you guys make a perfect looking couple!

So I need your help. I was talking to one of my BM last week and I had done my dinner favours so I brought 1 to show her. She said 'oh so cute, but you have to stop showing me things, I want things to be a suprise'

I was really taken back by this comment, as I really haven't ask for any of their help.. but that's what they are there for. There are no surprised for the bridesmaids (am I right?!)

So I figured she needed to get more involved in planning this wedding. I came across a template for a bridesmaid newsletter it's really cute way to get them involved.

I am now asking for you girls help on the wording. How do I let them know nicely they need to start doing their bridesmaid duty. Thanks guys sooo much!!

hehehe Tracy I'm going to be no help at all on this one!! There's so many details that I haven't told my bridesmaids specifically because I want them to get some of the surprise part for the wedding!! So I've made random comments about gifts for the guests, or thank you cards etc without ever actually mentioning that I'm doing an entire OOT bag for everyone! My sister might know but that's it :) Or I'll work on half a project with one girl, and then finish it alone, or with one of the other girls so that none of them really know what I'm doing! Hehehe, I did all the labels for my med. packets (Advil Imodium etc) with a couple girls who are coming to the wedding and just said "oh, my friend was having problems with her printer so I said I'd help her out!" so that they wouldn't know for sure if it was for me or not cheesy.gif But that's just the way I like doing things. If it doesn't directly affect them (such as their dresses) then I'd rather leave it a surprise.

Okay SO... you could say something along the lines of "The clock is ticking down quickly now that we're in the last couple of months and that means I'm going to need all the help I can get! I've got a (small) list of tasks/items/jobs/projects that need to be finished so I'm hoping that we can go through them to decide which of you can help me and pick a time to do them. The sooner we can knock these off the better (and who says we can't knock back some drinks along the way to make it all a little more fun!) so let's get started!"

I dunno... something like that?!?!?!

oh really!! now maybe I feel bad that I should leave things as a surprised. They all know about the OOT bags. My MOH has been amazing though.. helping me whenever asked. She actually likes seeing all the projects I've done. So maybe I should just leave it and try to understand this BM has never been to a wedding before and she'd like a few surprises.

I like it!! if I decided to use the template I'll use those words.. I knew you could come up with something amazing, your so darn talented lol

haha don't feel bad for thinking that your bridesmaids should be helping you out!!! Honestly my girls keep asking me what they should be doing or what I've still got left to do and I just keep telling them they don't have ANYthing to do! I guess in my mind of there are extra people involved then there's too much chance for ideas and things to spiral too far which isn't what Fi and I want. So maybe it goes to show how much of a control freak I am if I want to do it all myself?!?! LOL! Maybe you could just come up with a few things that are for the one girl specifically to help with and just tell her that you've got other things that will remain a surprise for her. That way she knows that not everything will be spoiled??

I think if you do feel like you need help then definitely ask for it and just make sure they know you want it to be a fun time for everyone involved and that it will help reduce your stress as you get closer to the wedding. No one wants to deal with a stressed out bride!!

I've never really been a person to ask either. my saying is 'if you want it done right, do it yourself' kind of thing. I guess some girls are different then others when it comes down to BM and MOH some of them are eager to help, and others want to feel part of the guest for surprises.

I guess your also right this one BM I am speaking of.. every time I tell her an idea like just now I picked a hairstyle for them and she said 'well after the pictures I'll just put my hair the way I want' or for the dress 'once the pictures are taken I'll add something to my dress'

I think I am just going to stop telling her the plan and on the wedding day just tell her she has to do it this way.

I mean would it be wrong of me to ask her if she'd prefer to attend as a guest? this way she can put her hair the way she wants, she can wear whatever dress she want. And not have to worry about responsibility.

Would it be crazy and rude to ask her that? After all it's how she is making me feel.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
