Telling guest what color to wear..

Recommended Posts

Okay I saw a picture and an article about a bride who requested that all her guest wear champagne, beige, tan, or white. At first I thought it was tacky but it actually made her pics look amazing! I want to do the same thing...what do you guys think?

I'm actually calling mine the white affair. I'd love to have everyone wear white to the wedding but I am getting some push back from FI's family. Everyone else is on board and to be honest, I'm only requesting, whatever they turn up in will be fine.

Right now, I'm just trying to figure out how to include in the invitiations. The last time I was in Mexico I saw a white wedding (no pun intended) and it looked lovely and fresh.

I say go for it no one knows what to wear to a destination wedding anyways

We are doing it for our "rehearsal dinner" Since every one is in that day we didn't want to exclude any one so we are having a black and white dinner, where everyone has to wear black and/or white. I think it will make for some great group pictures!

I am having my guests wear a color theme. This is how I am doing it in my invitations. (Thanks Ana!)

"The dress code for the wedding is Beach chic.

We are requesting the ladies to wear any form of pink and the gentlemen to wear any form of white. We want our photos to show us as one large wedding party! Flip flops and bare feet are welcome, as the ceremony is in the sand!

So far everyone seems to be rather receptive to the idea. We are tossing our shells into the ocean and the pics should be great.

Ooooye, I'd thought of this as well and definitely worried about how it would come across.

I dunno. I hate to seem...bridezilla'ish. BUT, its so common for people to ask/be told how casual they can come, I guess this is just one step further, right? We're all going through so much trouble to have everything look good. I think white shirts for the guys is almost a no brainer-not something that would be a hardship at all. It's more the ladies I worry about, especially with my colors. I dunno. Anything neutral would work. I'd just be thrilled not to have miscellaneous dots of bright reds, blues etc at my ivory/gold/chocolate wedding. That's really, REALLY gonna stand out.

I need to think on this one...I think maybe we'll add it to the web site, and throw it in one of the newsletters prior to departure. That way, it's more a casual request and not a command?

I presented it like this: if you are coming to the wedding please consider yourself part of the wedding party. You have now been officially dubbed the bridesmaid/groomsman. We had a party of 20 people though, and every one was excited to participate. We also hAd an interactive ceremony that involved everyone

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
