Is it normal to not want a wedding shower?

Recommended Posts

The only shower I had was a surprise at work. We did register because people were asking and we had an AHR.

This is my second marriage, and we already lived together -I would have felt really gift grabby if we had a shower.

Hi Josie, We have the same situation but we are having a shower..... or should I say party!! The friends that wanted to throw this shower is calling it a "Couples Shower". It is this Saturday and I am so excited. We are doing food and drink (I am helping with all this because same as you, married before... living together... etc) and 70 people have replied to the Evite. It will have beer, sangria, bar-b-que and other sides. FI and I also rented a photobooth so that will add more fun to it.

AND best of all, we are not going to open gifts at the event. It will just be a big party. We have told everyone coming (about half of the 75) that their presence is enough gift for us but for some reason, people are still wanting to give us stuff.

We both love to cook and I am always changing our decor. I registered for those things we say we are going to buy one day or things that need replacing and decor items for the house.

We also registered on HoneymoonWishes.com (recommending by on the the moderators) for things like spa treatments, artwork from our honeymoon and other fun things. I even listed some of our local artsy and wine type places in the shopping section, places we love to shop at that don't do registries.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
