No...we didn't bother asking for any money back... mostly b/c M.Maurus doesn't think he did anything wrong! He thinks he did a bang-up job of capturing our wedding and that I am just being a bridezilla (not sure if you saw his post on this thread...trying to explain "his side" of things...haha:-))

At this point, I think what I'd like more than money back, is an apology and an offer to "polish some of the turds" he gave us:-)

I doubt he'll edit any more... there's a snowball's chance in hell I suppose that he actually changed his way of doing business after reading this review BangHead.gif

Wow. That's pretty much all that I can say... this is my idea of the worse thing ever happening on my wedding, right after FI not showing up or saying no. I am so terribly sorry that this happened to you and that you are still having to deal with it. You could always have a vow renewal in a few years, wear that Amsale dress again (that's the first dress that I tried on, and it made me cry - it was *the* dress but I couldn't afford it) and get proper pictures! I have a friend who got married in Rome and is seriously thinking of doing that just to do it "right" this time around.

Regardless, you do have some pictures that you can use! And you looked gorgeous, and you two said yes, so that's what really matters!

Best of luck, and hang in there!

Hey there! What's funny is -- I couldn't afford that dress either:-)
But I made an agreement with my DH that I would sell it after, to recoup some of the money...
So, that's what I did! Which was great -- but also not-so-great, in that I won't be able to recreate any pics in it:-)

BTW, if you are still wanting that dress, did you check out any sites like oncewed.com and preownedweddingdresses.com or even partypop...? If you don't mind wearing a dress that's been worn for a few hours, you might be able to find it at half (or even less) than the original price... (afterall, someone wore mine after!:))

And thank you for the sympathetic words about our pics -- it helps;-)

That could have been a good way to go about it, I didn't think of that! I've found my dress since, but I still think about this one though.

Since you no longer have it to shoot with, you could always get a new dress (a much cheaper one!) and hire a local photographer to get some shots of the two of you around the city? I wouldn't suggest to get into the Vancouver water at this time of year, but you could still get some awesome shots! It's not the same, of course, but it could be fun! There's some great photographers in Van (I'm flying one down for my wedding) and some of them have quite the affordable "engagement session" packages that you could use for that.

haha -- no -- the water would be FREEZING!:-)
And yes -- I've been looking into some photographers here to do an almost "engagement session" type shoot, since we never did engagement photos anyway:-)

Which photographer are you flying out??

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
