I LOVE HER TO DEATH!!!! I really want her to be there to share this with us.
Maybe once the pressure is off of her she will be able to relax and ENJOY the trip - it sounds like she really wants to be there just maybe can't handle the MOH title...

Just to update everyone.....Ginny (my MOH) is off work today and tomorrow and she says she is going to apply for her passport, and also book her trip. We'll see.

On another note....James is seeing how upset I've been over this and now he's decided that since she is making me so upset, he no longer likes her and really doesn't want her at our wedding ~ great, huh!?! Without her knowing, she is causing us to argue because of the way she is making me stress. This is so not what I need. He just keeps bringing up how she is suppose to be my best friend and HIS BF would NEVER do that to him...blah blah blah....

Wow! I am really sorry to hear that all of this is happening and so close to your wedding. But that is great that you are able to communicate with her and be patient. You really deserve to have you MOH be there for you and help in anyway possible since this is really all about your happiness. I am sure if the roles were reversed, you would do anything for her and her daughters. I would say if there are any more problems, then you really should not have her in the wedding , but maybe in a less important role because she doesen't seem to have the natural inclination to want whats best for you. That passive agressive behavior can really be a problem when it comes the needing her to help for the wedding ..BELIEVE ME!

About the passport, my husband's uncle decided at the last minute to book the trip to come to Jamaica with no passports for the kids. They were able to get the passport in a week. They had to go in person to get it done. They live in NYC so maybe that helped. My maid of honor got her passport the day before the trip even though she applied months before the trip. She had to call every day to get it. So there is hope.

Lisa, did you read my thread about the passport issues we had?? We applied 10 weeks ago yesterday and they didn't come. We emailed Pete Sessions (TX Congressman) and were about to call Senator Kate Bailey Hutchinson's office this morning when the doorbell rang and LUCKILY it was the FedEx guy with our passports!!!! It worked out for us since we're not traveling until this Saturday, but originally our trip was booked for yesterday so we WOULDN'T have made it!

My advice is to apply at least 11 weeks in advance, if you can, because the stress really isn't worth it!

Well she's going today to apply for her passport, but has now decided she does not want to go. She does not want to book her trip and not get her passport in time. She also told me she would not be able to take any time off of work to go to Houston to pick it up - if neccassary.

She asked for my opinion yesterday - if it were me, would I go ahead and book it. Girls, I'm so done with her! I told her if it were me that I would not go. I told her it would be best. She was totally fine with that answer, and honestly, I heard a little relief in her voice. What she doesn't know is that I am very hurt that she has waited to the last minute (i think) just so she wouldn't have to go....that's just what I think! Maybe one day I'll let her know, but right now, I'm done!

And another thing, I told her the other girls were wanting to start planning the bach party and if she still wanted to be involved. She told that she didn't and to let the other girls deal with it. OMG! Seriously, she is not the friend that I thought she was!

But, I'm so glad this is all behind me! Let's get on to happier things!

OMG Lisa, that is NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!! What is she thinking?!?!?!?! Seriously, that is really really odd behavior. I don't know what I would do if my best friend not only backed out on her MOH duties but also out of the wedding COMPLETELY! BLEHHHH, sorry you're having to deal with this cr@p! Sadly, it sounds like you will be better off not having to worry about dealing with her... sad.gif

I think it's very odd too. But, you can't make someone get excited and participate in something that clearly is not a priority to them. James has never liked her. She's never done anything for him not too, until now, but obviously he's a good judge in character.

That's really good - it sounds like you realize you can't control what others think/say/do. Good for you Lisa! You are handling this REALLY well. Kudos!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
