FINALLY picked a resort!!

Recommended Posts

After months of what seemed agonizing debate over a resort we finally picked one! After seeing awesome deals on the superclubs through Vacation Deals and Travel Specials by BookIt.com® we looked into the Breezes and Beaches lines more. Once my fiance saw that Breezes Runaway Bay has free golf green fees he said it was the one! Haha. I'm SO glad somebody finally made a decision. It's not the "fairy tale" resort I had fallen in love with (like Gran Bahia) but it's got everything we wanted. It's not a tower resort with huge sky scraper like buildings, its affordable, has so many activities and a great beach with potential for awesome snorkeling/scuba diving experiences. The wedding is complimentary with 3 nights stay so we can spend more money on things like photography! I'm pretty thrilled about our decision right now and can't wait to get save the dates sent out!! Feb 23,2010!!

On a side note - I reserved the wedding date online but haven't paid the $200 fee yet since it'll be waived if you stay 7 nights (which we are). I am slightly worried about losing our spot since I haven't heard from the resort and our TA is in the processing of booking our room. Has anybody else here had experience with this? Thanks!

One thing to check off your list.

And a million more to start working on :-)

I'd just give your WC a call if you can, the WC at Couples was really quick to respond to a HUGE laundry list of questions I popped her with. I think the Couples/Beaches coordination setups are kind of the same in nature even though they're different companies.

You will be very happy with your choice on resort. The resort is smaller, so you will actually see your guests around :) We had been to some other large resorts and when you're in the common areas (pools, beach, bars, restaurants) at BRB, the resort didn't feel "small" at all. The only place where the large mega resorts were noticeably different would be with the rooms themselves. The older rooms at BRB are just that, old... but were still clean. The newer rooms were very nice though, just maybe not as big as some of the mega resort rooms.

Congrats! I'm still trying to decide where to go. It's tough!

We've been to BRB twice now on previous vacations. I like the resort and the little wedding chapel. The staff is amazing! It is smaller and I'm sure there are better rooms elsewhere, but who cares! They are comfortable and spacious.

My only concern with them is the lack of response from the SuperClubs WC. This is why I'm hesitate to book there.

We're getting married February 20, 2010. Let me know if you want to share a wedding photographer and split the travel costs. She's excellent and highly recommended! We're bringing her regardless, but every penny counts :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
