It is the standard cake that I got with the Superior Wedding package. I was so surprised and happy with it.

My room was an Oceanview room on the Nizuc side. The pic I shared was the side view ~ here's straight from the balcony:

thanks for that! i am loath to pay extra for a cake, as it isn't really important to me tbh, so i'd be delighted to have a cake like yours!

i have said all along i want to stay in the grand side...i hope they have oceanview rooms like yours - honestly yours looks perfect!

It was! :)

Here's a pic of the Grand side - the accommodations look wonderful, I don't know what the views are like though.

I didn't really negotiate too much. I just had to tell her what the original WC and I agreed on. One thing I did get, I got the free private reception even though I didn't meet the number of rooms booked. Most of my guests were staying 6-7 nights so we had over 80 nights booked but not 20 rooms for 3 nights. If possible try to negotiate it by night versus rooms. Another good thing was anything they "think" they can do at the original interview usually happens without costing extra. It seems like the WCs aren't very flexible via email but once you are there they can be more accommodating based on what's available, KWIM?

Thanks D, you should go. I just had to tell you, I made some guac last night trying to imitate the guy at MP, not quite as good but still tasty!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
