How to get people to RSVP

Recommended Posts

So, our RSVP deadline is in 3 days and we have only had about a third of the people we have invited RSVP. My question is now what are we supposed to do? Our wedding is in about 2 months!!! we need to know who is coming but I dont want to be rude. Please advise...

Honestly I would either send a mass email out just reminding people of the RSVP date or start calling people. You could just approach it as you are making final arrangements with you TA and want to see if they had time to think about.

I'm sure everyone has decided by now, they probably just forgot about RSVP deadline. I don't think it's rude to remind people. It's ruder of them not to RSVP in a timely fashion! :)

I agree, worth sending out reminder emails! We got a few more RSVPs when we did this (mostly for "no" but that's better than nothing!). That being said, I'm still pretty peeved that only 30 people RSVP'ed out of the 80 we invited, despite 2 reminder emails (1 one month before deadline, the other 1 week before). Maybe I should have called?

Good luck!!!

This is so frustrating to me! Why can't people just RSVP?? I would assume they're not going, so maybe they feel bad telling us they're not coming? Or maybe they are just RUDE!

We sent out 30 invites, and only got about 10 RSVPs...so I guess 1/3 is average? I never called people, I just assumed...but I really want them to send them back (we did RSVP madlibs postcards...maybe that's the issue?)

I would say send out a reminder email or call them if you're really not sure. Good luck!

ha, ha! 1/3 is most definitely the avg- that's almost exactly what I got out of 50. We also had RSVP postcards, but they were self-addressed and stamped... And ps- rsvp-ing thru your mom (my fiance's aunt) when you got your own invite is annoying... I'm also annoyed by people who rsvp'd thru the facebook event, but didn't send back the response via mail- though I should probably be glad I got back any response at all... also I know people who "said" they're going, but haven't booked any tickets, so I'm expecting cancellations. If they didn't rsvp, should I even take their word?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
