Hello Everyone!

 

My name is Michelle and I stumbled across this site last night and I'm so excited! I am trying to plan my wedding for May 26, 2008 at the Fiesta Americana Imperial Suite!

 

There is alot of information and questions...I keep coming up with questions and it's so good to be able to talk to all of you who have either had your wedding in cabo or are planning one there!

 

My first major question to anyone out there is are you using a wedding coordinator outside of the hotel? I have been talking with Lola Del Campo from Fiestas Los Cabos and I haven't commited yet but she has been great and helpful. I just didn't want to spend the money. This wedding is already costing more than we wanted to spend. However I really think it's necessary because she will handle EVERYTHING, including negotiations and all. So she wants $1650 fee and I think it's worth it but didn't know if any of you went on your own and booked vendors and if you had much luck w/ that.

 

Any advice would sure help! :)

Personally, I am not using an outside wedding coordinator. I (like you) am having my wedding next May, and so far haven't felt the need to... although that may change. For me, the resort provides one so I don't feel the need to hire an outside coordinator... but that's just me. There are lots of brides here who have hired outside WC, and swear by them. I think it also depends on the WC provided to you by the resort... how responsive she is, and how helpful she is with getting you the crucial information. I can understand why people would want the outside WC!! That sounds like a reasonable price, and if you feel that you'll need her services and she'll save you the stress, then I think it's a good idea.

 

I can't remember if there were more questions... so I'll go back and read your post again and add if I need to! lol

Can I ask how much Maye is charging and what her fee includes??

 

I checked out Dreams and we are actually going to stay at Dreams...but for me the white gazebo wasn't my favorite and Yessica couldn't provide me with too many other locations.

 

Fiesta Americana doesn't have a coordinator..only to choose the spot and food.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else.
