Disposable cameras

Recommended Posts

I think it's a good idea but you have to expect that there will be many photos that you don't want. I worked for a photographer for many years who also did 1 hr photo developing...I always felt like the disposable cameras were such a waste...and yet for a DW I'm sure that there will be lots you won't get to see while you're guests are hanging out around the resort...so I guess in the end as long as you're prepared to only like a few of the but still pay to get them all developed...go ahead...it sounds like it would be fun to look at them after the trip!

I think you should decide what you want them for. If your intent is to get them back at the end of the week than yes! If you are just giving them as gifts for your guest I would say no because everyone will bring their own cameras and they may not use the disposable.

I want to provide cameras for my guests at the wedding so I can have more pictures of the event. Now I'm starting to think I might give them in the OOT bags so I can have photos from the whole week. So if I put them in the OOT bags I would attached a message saying that we will be collecting them at the end of the week.

What have others done?

I was thinking about creating a postcard on Vistaprint with instructions for my guests to return the cameras at the end of their trip.

my Fi came up with that idea too. he wants our guests to take pictures of their trip - give the camera back to us so we can develop the pictures and put them in an album to show around at our AHR. i still don't know how i feel about that. but he hasn't come up with much and it's the 1st "creative" idea he came up with so i sort of feel like i should! lol

Most of our guests took pictures with their own digital cameras. When we got back I set up a photo sharing site and got a lot of pictures from our guests. If we would have given them disposables, I don't think they would have used them much.

I bought disposable cameras for our AHR and put one on each table. Each camera had 27 pictures, and we had 23 tables. I only got about 75 decent pictures. The quality of the disposable pictures isn't that great either, especially when you are used to your digital camera. It also can be quite pricey to get the cameras developed.

Maybe put together a "photo scavenger hunt" or some kind of game to get people to take pictures with their own digital cameras. I think you might be disappointed with what you get from the disposables.

I personally don't think it's worth it, everyone will have their digital cameras and it's so easy to share photos (sure, some people will never get around to it but others will) and disposable cameras take poor quality photos.

I have bought disposable waterproof cameras for my last 3 vacations and each time I am really disappointed with the photos. I don't expect them to be nearly as good as my digital camera, but they are outright awful.

We were thinking about trying to find cheap thumb drives and asking our guests to download their photos onto it. We are taking our laptop and a card drive that handles multiple sized digital cards.

Our other option is like another poster stated - set up a photo sharing site. Lately, we have been leaning move toward the photo sharing site and asking our guests to share their photos since almost all of our friends carry digital cameras. It is usually free and most give you the option of printing photos. We travel with groups of friends and this works very well on our trips.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
