Vow Renewal at AHR?

Recommended Posts

For those that got hitched with little to no guests, how many had "vow renewals" or a legal ceremony for your family & friends before or after your DW? Since FI and I are running off just the two of us, we are going to have a casual, BBQ AHR when we get back. At the BBQ celebration, we were thinking of having a short, informal vow renewal. We figure this won't break the bank and it will make our mothers happy. Any ideas or suggestions?

I am actually doing this as well. We just got married last week in Mexico with about 30 guests, but one of my grandmothers and quite a few aunts and uncles were not there, so about one hour before our At Home Reception begins we are having a vow renewal for just family and close friends in the garden outside of the venue. We are using our pastor. Most pastors have a special vow renewal ceremony already prepared for use. We are going to recite the vows we wrote for eachother. I am going to wear my dress again. After this little ceremony we are going to have a champagne toast at the site and have photographer snap some family pictures. Basically, try and make it feel like a real wedding for those who couldn't or woudln't come to Mexico.

I think its important to make your parents happy, afterall they have looked forward to this your whole life too! I say go for something short and sweet, or better yet show a video of the real thing. That is what we will be doing since we only had 22 guests at our destination and the ceremony was very shor we will just show the video between courses at dinner (or somewhere in there before dancing)

Yay! This is almost exactly what we are planning to do. My fiance's grandmother is not going to be able to make it to Mexico, so we want to do something special to include her when we get back. We are going to do a renewal of vows in the smaller chapel with our priest before our AHR.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
