Oh wow! My date is November 19 :)   And Im in Alberta! awesome.   Do you know if Dreams Palm beach sends out extra information to those who have already put a deposit down?  Ive seen it be the case with other resorts on here.  I feel like a lot of my stress has been lifted now with having my date, and having the most important people to me booked, and having enough now to call it a group booking, so that's a load off. Do you have your colors picked out?

How many people do you have in total?  For now I only have 10 adults and 2 children.  Maybe if my numbers jump a little higher I should look in to the Jellyfish,  ofcourse like with so many other things you have to plan ahead, at this time its hard to guess just how many people will actually go.

Hello ladies----I got married at Dreams Palm Beach in Oct. 2011. Suffice to say all was wonderful and fabulous...I'll post pics soon. Re: A/C. I ate in 2 of the four specialty restaurants. Although it was not "blowing cold air", it was not hot either. My opinion and that of all my guests is that the French was by far the best!  I am located in Calgary, AB and just posted a thread under "Buy, Sell, Trade, etc." with a list of post wedding items I am selling. Words of advice/experience----don't stress yourself and don't load yourself down with "stuff'. It is paradise in itself and truly no abundance of items will make it better! Just say'in......

  • 2 weeks later...

Congrats on securing your wedding date!  Such a load off right?! Now all the fun planning begins. Once we payed our deposit I received a confirmation email with our wedding planner's name and we've started an email dialogue with her.  Our wedding planner is Awilda and so far she's been great with communicating and answering all our questions very promptly.  She sent us some package information as well as some decoration options (flowers, gazebo options, centrepieces and reception options for dinner).

Hope we get to meet when we're down there.  My fiance and I will still be there on the 19th!  As far as colours, I'm still kinda up in the air, but leaning towards taupe with corral accents.

Happy planning and hope to chat soon!

First, would you all say that if you have 25-35 people the Jellyfish would be better?

What about the boat that hosts weddings too? Anyone ever try that place?

FI doesnt understand why we wouldnt be able to eat together at one of the restuarants with it being all-inclusive either. I get what he is saying but I just assumed you couldn't.

Oh and who is the photographer everyone chose? Who is the resort photgrapher?

Thanks!

Yeah its load off, now I have to just stop myself from looking at other resorts and no second guessing, Decision is made and its final.  I thought I had sent off an email asking for extra information regarding my choices, havent got anything yet, think I will send off another one, its been several weeks now.  Oh Taupe and Coral I bet would look nice.  I really love green and purple so think I will going with that, with perhaps some silver accents.  I am quite excited about picking out the little things, except for shoes, I think shoes might pose a problem. Kind of undecided about going with purple or silver.. hmmm oh well got a bit of time to decide yet.

Cant help with an American TA.  But you are so lucky, travel from the states is beyond cheaper then from Canada. Looks like November is a busy time for weddings at the DreamsPB.  I was told it is a cheaper time for Group Travel to DR.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
