Thank you so much for replying!!!  I'd like to keep our anniversary on that day and I've already mailed out the invitations.  I'm thinking of just having everything right after instead of everyone having to go change and then get dressed all over again.  I just really didn't know what other options we would have.

Hi,

Because the judge gave me a ridiculous time of 1:30 pm for the legal ceremony we decided to get married at home, not tell anyone and have a simbolic ceremony instead.  it is basically the same thing except they dont say the legal stuff when the pronounce you man and wife.

Not sure if its too late to change what you are doing, but this might be something you want to consider.

Besides, you will save money on paper work and you wont have issues getting your certificate.  I saw that another DR bride was recently having issues getting hers.

hope this helps.

Alliecat023,

Was the pool reception fairly private or were there lots of onlookers? We're having 50-60 people at our wedding and we're stuck between having the pool reception and the beach reception. Thanks!

Hi,

I just had my wedding at Dreams Palm Beach on January 15th.  We had 70 people fly in from mainly NY.  It was absolutely spectacular.  Melani took care of every last detail that I had stressed about for a year.  Friday night we had a welcome party with food/appetizers on an island in the pool.  We had a projector and outdoor screen setup and played a slideshow ongoing.  We also had a sound system.

Saturday we had our ceremony at 2pm on the beach with Pastor Rick.  Our cocktail hour started at 5:30 on the beach followed by the beach reception.  We rented the lighted dance floor.  The setup was absolutely gorgeous.  The Mexican Trio at cocktail hour were also a perfect touch.

I cannot speak highly enough about Melani and her coordinating skills.

We used HDC photo and it was the best decision we made.  The pictures came out incredible and told a perfect story of the entire wedding.  The photographer came at 1pm and we had him until 9pm, just paid for the extra hours of coverage.  We took many pics in between the ceremony and cocktail hour.

Every one of our guests says it was the best wedding they ever attended.

Melissa,

Thank you so much for sharing!  Is HDC a private photography place or was it the one that comes in the Dreams packages?  We're getting married at 1pm, you did at 2pm so can I ask what everyone did in between?  Did everyone get changed then get dressed up again?  I'm wondering if I should have my cocktail party and reception right after or wait like you did.  TIA!

Congrats!!! When are you getting married?  I'm thinking of just having our cocktail our and reception right after but that's kind of early for drinks lol.  It's just that I don't know about hair, makeup etc if we wait until later in the day.

There is no way I'm having my reception at 3 pm in the afternoon... I am so upset about getting married at 1 PM... I am going to stall stall stall..... I think that after we get married and take pictures on the beach and with the wedding party... I am going to get my hair and make up touched up.... I also want my hair hallf-up half-down and with the wind... it may not be too smart... so tahts why I may re-do it.

Hi everyone! I'm new here and I am trying to send in the credit card info to Dreams Palm Beach along with the wedding request form. My question is how much is the deposit for the complimentary package (wedding in paradise)? One place under the package and on the FAQ section of the website it says $100 but when I look in the wedding guide pdf on the website it says $500 is required to hold and confirm wedding date under the wedding in paradise section (small print). Has anyone recently sent in a deposit and can you confirm if $100 is enough for the complimentary package? Thanks for your help!!

I had that same question. I emailed Melani and she said that the initial deposit is only $100 and when she contacts you 3 months prior to the wedding to discuss your package choice, you may have to send more money on the deposit depending on your package choice.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
