Dreams Palm Beach?

I think that is their "generic" email they send to all people inquiring about marriage at their resort. I received the exact same email along with some attachments. My email said that my tentative date was open, first come first serve in the same exact spot in the email that yours says "Unfortunately we do not have those days available"  I'd say that your dates you requested aren't available. Good luck!!

I would think that is just a generic email saying "sorry your requested dates are not available".  BUT maybe she was confused with your dates?  Have you tired emailing back re-stating WHAT Year you are requesting, and politely saying you think her email was a mistake--March 2010-- wise?

Has anyone on here had/ going to have just a symbolic ceremony? My F and I are just going to get married at city hall a couple weeks before the trip, and keep it on the downlow so guests still assume they are attending our "wedding".  My travel agent actually said we would save some money doing this too.  Any experiences with this kina thing?

Thanks

Danielle

Danielle - we're doing the same thing. We're going to have an officiant marry us here first. We're not doing it to save costs, but to save the hassle of the translations and waiting for the certificate and all that. We are keeping it small and simple, and only having 2 witnesses. For us, the real wedding is in PC. Which is why we're having Pastor Rick York perform the ceremony, to give it that feeling of being the real thing (as opposed to having a wedding coordinator perform it, which was the other option for a symbolic ceremony, but it wouldn't feel real to me that way) .

Oh Thanks for the comment Sandy!  I thought we were weird to not want to go through all the hassle as it IS your wedding day--Its all a mindset I think.  The Real wedding like you said will be at Dreams.  The one you remember anyway.  We are actually hoping to have one of our guests (a pastor) do our ceremony...that is if he decides to come!  Otherwise the ceremony will be fine without him im sure, maybe we could also look into pastor Rick York.  Its quite ironic, as my guest potential pastor's last name is york also.

Does the Pastor in the DR have a fee like the judge would have?

Yes, he does.  We've booked him for our wedding.  We are doing both the legal and religious ceremony in DR.  We'll have the judge perform the legal ceremony and then Pastor York will perform the religious ceremony immediately after.  His fee is $300.  He's been wonderful to work with and you'll love the sample vows he'll send you to choose from.

Well I will do my Legal ceremony here at Home, then I will have a symbolic wedding at DPB. I am still on the fence about a beach or gazebo wedding...it doesnt matter that much to me, so I may just decide when i get there...My ceremony is @ 3PM so I will have the ceremony from 3-3:30ish, I will then have cocktail hour from 4-5 when I will be taking pics and such, ( using HDC) I will come back for toasts and cake cutting pics then I will have a dinner at one of the restaurants as I will only have about 20guests incld. Me and FI...I initially wanted to do a beach reception with dance floor and all that Jazz...but then decided that I would scrap it ( who knows I might change my mond last minute...Lol) after that ( unless I have private reception) I will ask guests to join us at the disco for dancing..maybe...

Im really a go with the flow kinda chick...and at this point....( and hopefully I can keep my Morning sickness under ropes) I actually dont wanna stress too much about it.

I will however ask guests to Bring their halloween costumes for a fun Last Night out party the day before since we are getting married the day after Halloween....I am trying to figue out a cute couples costume that I can incorporate my growing baby Bump!...we shall see.....lol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
