Dreams Palm Beach?

Having a dilemma....

I was thinking of having just cocktails and cake for the reception, since the ceremony is at 4 i thought the guest could have dinner anywhere they like throughout the resort, and then we meet later for cake, music, toast and cocktails. While they eat, I could use that time to change dresses and take pictures. One of the reasons i thought this would be a good idea is because DPB is all inclusive and from my own experience there is always so much food that I donâ€t want to overwhelm my guest with more food at a reception sometime around 8 pm after they have been eating all day. So, is not having a sit down dinner at an all-inclusive resort considered tacky?

Hi everyone,

I am currently planning my wedding at Dreams Palm Beach for November 2010. I'm still waiting to get prices from my travel agent......Anyway, I will be doing a symbolic ceremony and would like Pastor Rick York to perform it. Does anyone know if we have to purchase a day pass or him to be on the premisses of the resort? Also, I was wondering if any of you had the menus from the restaurants as one person in my wedding group has to have a 100% gluten free diet and another one is allergic to peanuts. If you do, could you e-mail them to me at mymygagne@gmail.com.

Thanks girls!

Its funny, we are getting married at Dreams Palm Beach in July, then we are doing our honemoon at the Iberostar Grand Bavaro.

Anyway, there is a group on facebook called Dreams Palm Beach Brides and a girl name Kelly recently posted her wedding pics by a resort photographer at Dreams. I was actually going to fly a photographer in until I saw her pictures--they are great.

Has anyone worked with the resort photographer? I want to see if I can set up a TTD session. Also, if anyone has had their honeymoon at Dreams PB I would love to hear all about it!

I am doing the same thing - no private reception/dinner. My wedding is scheduled for 4pm as well, I have decided to do a cocktail hour afterwards, and will coordinate dinner for all my guests at the World Cafe after the cocktails. You can't make reservations as it is the buffet style restaurant but the WC has said that they can help me coordinate. I don't understand why you would pay for dinner at an all inclusive - there so much other stuff you can spend your money on.

Hi girls!

Would anyone be so kind to post or PM me the correct email address for a wedding coordinator at Dreams PB? I have sent emails out to two different addresses and both have come back invalid. Getting fed up!

I'm torn between Dreams Palm Beach, Dreams Tulum or Valentin Imperial in Mexico.. prices are best in the dominican, but Valentin is extraordinary.. just not sure if guests will want to pay $1700-1800 each to come to my wedding! What are all your guests paying approximately for 7 nights all included?

I am stressing a little bit and nothing is even reserved yet.. imagine!

Hey girls I contacted Melani to ask her about dates for Jan 2011 and she said they're not starting to book for 2011 until the end of March.

I see some other brides choosing different resorts that already have their dates booked for up to June 2011. I really want this resort but am worried that the dates will book up super fast and then I wont get one! lol...paranoid I know.

I was just wondering if you guys were worried about the same thing and how you worked around it because I really want to send out my STD's since its only 10 months away and really I wanted to give everyone a years notice, but with no real info to give people I feel kind of silly to send them out now.

I guess I'm just not too sure what to do. Waiting around for another month kind of makes me feel a little nervous though! worried2.gif

Melissa:

I haven't been to either but Dreams Palm Beach is only about a year and half old so at least you know everything there is new.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
