Hi again everyone..

So, I decided on Dreams Tulum, and asked Sandra to reserve the date-- we asked for April 12th 2008 or April 19th 2008.. So, she took forever to get back to me, and never answered whether there were already other weddings on those days or not.. and said the 12th was fine but only at 3P. I'm trying to figure out if 3P is their normal evening ceremony time, if this is because there's a wedding after that (in which case I'd rather just switch dates!!), or if there's some other reason. Of course, I wrote back to her, but she takes so long to answer, and then usually only half answers my questions anyway!!

Do any of you know - what times are the weddings usually done? Were you given options? Do any of you already have one of those dates reserved??

Thanks! Leah

I may be wrong, but I thought all Dreams resorts only book one wedding per day. I asked Sandra this when I was there and I'm pretty sure she said that was the case, so if you wanted to move your ceremony time up, I don't think that would be an issue. 3:00 may be quite early to have a ceremony, it'll be incredibly hot... just think, it'll be at about it's peak for temperature for that day! But, there are lots of brides who have their ceremonies at noon and their receptions in the evening and wouldn't change it for the world - so it's up to you.

Hmm.... In my emails with Sandra, she answered my questions line by line or said she didn't understand the question. I eventually had the Best Woman who speaks fluent spanish call her to get some things clarified. She had no problems reaching her. When we were picking our dates, she said all those days were open and asked us to pick one and pick a time. I haven't asked her but I am under the impression that we are the only wedding that day. However, I think for Laura B's wedding in July, there are two weddings that day. If Sandra specified only 3PM, there may be another wedding in the morning or if you're using the church, maybe something else is going on in there. The only way to know for sure is to ask!

Our wedding is at 5:00 p.m. We picked the time...not sure if there is another wedding on our day, but they do have more than one wedding per day. Yes, Sandra is very slow in her response time, but she usually answers my questions line by line also.

I emailed Sandra twice in almost the past 2 weeks and STILL have not heard back. Have all of you been to see this resort? We are really considering it but have been seeing a consistant stream of bad reviews. I was just hoping you guys could offer some insight. What do you like best about it, what do you not like? Are there a lot of kids running around, ect.

I am sensing a trend with Sandra. She is slow getting to back to us as well. I believe we were offered a few times but settled on 10 a.m. because it's cooler at that time of day and also we wanted to have the rest of the day to celebrate

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi everybody- we are back from our wedding, and it was awesome. I will be posting a review with pics in a little bit, but to answer the question, there are AT LEAST two weddings per day, sometimes three. Our ceremony was at 6, there was a 5:15! Sandra actually had to go "kick out" the other party so I could walk down the aisle.

Since we had already been legally married here, the process was very easy. We could not track down Sandra for the first two days we were there - we left her notes and messages. Be persistent. Tell the front desk you are a bride and it is urgent - they will find her.

Our meeting with her lasted about 15 minutes - we picked the flowers, cake, and music. That was about it! It turned out perfectly. Someone picked up my dress the morning of, and returned it in a few hours pressed. Landy, Sandra's assistant, brought up my dad and our flowers to my room, which just happened to look over the ceremony site. :)

I will write a more extensive review tonight and post some pics. The vacation was absolutely amazing.

Thank you so much for posting your mini-review. Jason and I leave for DreamsTulum in 6 days!!!! So reading that everything came together for you beautifully puts my mind at ease. How was the food, cake and flowers? Did you have your hair and make up done at the resort spa? I can't wait to read your review!!!

Thanks for your mini review! That's a little scary that she had to kick out the previous wedding...yikes!! Sandra does not want to see my Bridezilla side!! I sure hope they don't have a wedding 45 minutes before ours!!

Karen and Jason....I'm so excited for you guys!! I can't believe you're about to leave!! Do you have everything readyhuh.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
