We got married at 5PM, during sunset. It was picture perfect, defiantly not as hot as earlier in the day. It gave us time to hang out during the day, get a massage, get ready, etc. We just took pics after the ceremony and then went to the reception after that.

Typically if it rains down there, it is just for a short bit

I was torn on moving my 4pm time slot to earlier on in the day. I definitely want the bright blue pics, but I wasn't sure how everything would flow if the ceremony was earlier in the day and the dinner/reception wasn't until later in the day. So I talked to my photographer about the lighting and how blue the water is if we schedule earlier and her opinion was to keep the time as it is at 4pm. Her thoughts were if we went earlier, the sun is higher in the sky, causing more glare, more squinting, and is just more harsh overall. If we keep it at 4pm, the lighting is a little bit softer; we can still have everything flow nicely with dinner/reception/pics etc; we can get some beautiful shots during the sunset, and as far as the bright blue water in the background, she said that's something that she can easily correct/touch up so we still have the beautiful pics :)

So I'm keeping my 4pm time slot and now I just have to keep my fingers crossed for no rain, lol.

I"m getting married in Turks & Caicos in September 2011 and I searched 3 or 4 different weather related websites for details on weather patterns. The best ones I found were wunderground.com and turksandcaicos-guide.info. I decided on a morning ceremony on what I found and from this forum. Plus I want to wake up, get married and enjoy the day!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
