"So You Think You Can Dance" Summer 2009

Brandon and Janine really ended on a high note. I really want Janine to win. I've liked her from the beginning!

Last performance show of the season, here's my thoughts on it!

 

Guys & Girls Group Dance - I liked it, thought it was pretty cute choreography by Tasty Oreo (Tyce) and I love that Lady Gaga song so that was a bonus. I really loved Brandon & Jeanine in it, Evan and Kayla were ok but I had a hard time taking my eyes off of Brandon & Jeanine.

 

Evan & Jeanine (contemporary/jazz) - I love Sonya's choreography and everything but I don't know if it was the music or what...I thought the dance was good but I was kind of bored with it, I don't know why but I was. The judges seemed to like it though.

 

Brandon & Kayla (Jazz) - I thought they did a great job and I loved the choreography...it looked like a hard dance!! Although they did a great job, it didn't wow me like it wowed the judges. I don't know, I guess my expectations are so high because of past seasons. Don't get me wrong, it was great but I wasn't in love with it. I didn't see a point in the table in the dance, I was wondering if they put it in there because everyone loved the Neil/Sabra jazz dance two seasons ago with the table. Blah, I feel weird about this dance.

 

Evan & Brandon (Jazz) - Finally! A dance that I LOVED tonight! I thought the choreography and music were great. I couldn't tear my eyes from Brandon, he was clearly outdancing Evan on all aspects. Evan did ok but Brandon blew that out of the water!! Even the judges seemed to notice, I LOL'ed when Mary asked

Evan what was the nastiest thing he's ever done

 

Kayla & Jeanine (Contempoaray) - I really liked this dance! As annoying as I find Mia as a person, her choreography is almost always awesome. I really loved concept of the dance. They both did a fantastic job but again, I was completely focused on Jeanine the entire time.

 

Evan & Kayla (Jive) - Ahhh, a jive to a country tune! I thought it was a fun dance but that's all it was...fun. I didn't find it to be particularly challenging for the level of dancing they're at. I did love when Evan flipped Kayla, that looked neat but this dance overall didn't blow my mind, personally. Is it just me or were they both hamming it up in their faces a bit too much during the dance? It was starting to annoy me a little.

 

Brandon & Jeanine (paso doble) - oooh I loved this one! I wasn't paying attention to the little thingy before they do the dance...was it Matrix inspired? The music totally reminded me of the Matrix. Anyway, they were both so in character in this dance, you could see it in their faces. It was an intense looking dance and they nailed their moves!!

 

Ok so I wasn't going to comment on the solos but I guess I am. I thought Brandon and Jeanine did really well with their solos tonight, they clearly brought their "A" game. Evan was good but it wasn't anything we haven't seen from him before already so I don't think he did himself any favors, I have to say I felt bad for him though as he was obviously nervous! The poor boy had noticable sweat stains on his shirt while he was dancing! Kayla looked like she did the same old stuff in her solo too...I was kind of bored with it to be honest.

 

I don't know about you ladies but I am so tired of hearing the judges kiss Kayla's butt like all freakin' night, seriously!!

 

Ok, so here's what I want to happen tomorrow:

 

First eliminated: Evan

Second eliminated: Kayla

Third eliminated: Brandon

Winner: Jeanine

 

What I think might happen:

 

First eliminated: Evan

Second eliminated: Jeanine

Third Eliminated: Kayla

Winner: Brandon

 

OR this might happen too lol (God I hope not though):

 

First eliminated: Evan

Second eliminated: Jeanine

Third eliminated: Brandon

Winner: Kayla

 

I'd be fine with either Brandon or Jeanine taking but I really would be disapointed if Kayla won. I would be surprised if Evan did win but not shocked since apparently he has a crap ton of fans voting for him like all season! lol

I thought Jeanine was amazing! also Kayla and Brandon too. But I really want Jeanine to win. I tried to vote but the line is busy. I have to say I am gonna be really PO'ed if Evan wins! UGH! I will boycott the show next season!

I honestly like Kayla more than Jeanine, but wouldn't be suprised if Jeanine and Brandon end up in the top 2. It makes me mad it's such a popularity contest because when Brandon and Evan were doing their routine, I think it was made pretty obvious that Evan is NOT a strong dancer. That's my only gripe about this show... it shouldn't be America's favorite dancer, it should be the best dancer.

 

DAMN IT!!!!!!

I thought I was totally in the minority here liking Kayla more than Jeanine! Jeanine does have a great personality but there were a few dances she did that I didn't think she did that well in while Kayla I think does fantastic with everything she's given. I hope that Evan doesn't win..I know he's really popular but he doesn't deserve it at all! And Brandon, of course, is also amazing. I can't wait to see the results!

AHHH so much to say, so little time.

 

Kathy - I completely agree with everything except that we missed the group dance and the first dance, so I can't really comment on that. And yes, that was music from the Matrix! (totally forgot that I love that soundtrack!!)

 

Anyway, I'm really hoping that either Jeannine or Brandon win. Although I think it should be a woman this year! I'm also scared that Evan might win it all because of his fan base which could totally happen.

 

ACK! that's all I have time to say! I'm off to the cottage for a few days and I'm really hoping to get to watch the show tonight. My grandfather is coming to camp and he talks alot, so we may not get to watch the whole thing! lol But I do love the man. I am PVR'ing it at home though, so at least I'll get to watch the stuff that I missed.

 

Anywho, enjoy the show tonight ladies. This will be the last until Sept unless you'll be watching the Canadian version which starts next week - woo hoo!!!

So i totally forgot about the show last night and rememberd at 9:15 LOL so i watched it on my DVR and pretty much fast forwarded all the comentary and ended up catching up!

 

Jeanine's solo was AMAZING - im so happy she ended so strong. Brandon's was really good too. I hope Jeanine wins but if Brandon wins Im ok with that - actually even if Kayla wins i wouldnt be THAT pissed but Evan wins im going to be so facking angry! Ugh he just sucks!!!!!

omg is anyone watching it right now? Jeanine & Jason's contemporary dance (with the heart necklace) was reprised and wow, that kiss at the end was steamy!! LOL It looked like Jeanine wasn't quite finished with him yet when Jason stopped kissing her. hehehehe

I loved a lot of the old routines that they brought back. It was great to see them again.

 

I just finished watching the show...

 

 

 

I have to say I'm slightly bummed because I'm not a big fan of Jeanine's, but I'm just glad it wasn't Evan!!!!
