"So You Think You Can Dance" Summer 2009

I have to agree... As much as Asuka is an amazing dancer I think she's in danger tonight along with Vitolio, Tony and Paris. I don't think their performances were as memorable as the others.

And I think Jonathan and Karla are going to be the last couple in the bottom three, their routine was good but it could have had a lot more spice to it!

Those are my thoughts anyways...

A few routines that I especially loved tonight were:

Kayla & Max's samba...wow, that was hot hot hot!!!

Phillip & Jeannine's lyrical hip hop...was very reminiscent of Joshua and Katee's lyrical hip hop from last year which was also really fantastic. I loved this routine.

Randi (aka Unitard...didn't know she was married, interesting) & Evan's jazz was really good.

Jason & Kaitlyn's bollywood routine was really great, especially considering it is the first week, though I have to say there's something about Kaitlyn that irks me and I can't put my finger on it.

Brandon & Jeanette's foxtrot was so beautiful. I'm so glad Brandon is bringing it (like he promised...in your face, Mia!!!), they made it look so effortless!

Ashley & Kupono's jazz routine by Tyce was interesting...it was weird but interesting. I couldn't take my eyes off of them.

Ade & Melissa wow!! Firstly, I didn't even know Melissa is 29 cause she sure doesn't look it! I thought their routine was so beautiful, but to be expected since Mandy is a terrific choreographer...I love her!

People I'm worried for: Asuka (who I LOVE watching) & Vitolio, though I don't think it's their fault. I didn't care for the choreography at all. I also think Paris and Tony may be in danger...their hip hop was good but a little boring for me. I really hope people vote for Auska, she is too amazing to leave this soon. Personally, I can see Tony leaving soon, after all...he barely even squeaked in to the top 20 in the first place. He has a great personality but I think his technical skills aren't on par with the other dancers. They probably should have picked someone over him, sad to say.

I was lukewarm about Jonathon and Karla's chacha to "Poker Face", it felt like the music was too fast for the dance...even my DH commented on the odd pace of the dance with the music. The judges seemed to love it though.

So what does everyone else think?!? cheesy.gif
I LOVED IT!!!!!!

OMG I couldn't believe how good they were! For Philip and Janine to start out with such a great number - they were soooo good.

Asuka and Vitolio...I usually love Broadway, but I really think it was more the choreography....I just didn't like it. Asuka is an amazing dancer, but this could get her dropped.

I liked Tony and Paris more than the judges did, but I think it's because I just like hip hop dancing : )

Caitlin and Jason doing Bollywood was awesome. I've seen some of the real Bollywood movies - the dancing is really cool in them...what was with that kiss at the end...that looked like a real kiss..

I thought the Crash Test Dummy thing was cool - it didn't come out like Jazz to me but it was interesting,

I didn't love Melissa and Ade like everyone else did. And I think her face looks older than 29. They were just ok.

I thought Kayla and Max were great. They were so happy when they were dancing!

It's going to be an interesting night to see who gets the lowest amount of votes....everyone was REALLY good, even if I didn't personally like them lol!

WOW, you completely stole all my thoughts! I agree with everything that you said!! lol

I SO cried when Phillip & Jeannine did their lyrical hip hop - I love emotional dances like that. It also reminded me of Mark and that bubbly blond girl (her name slips my mind) dance with the briefcase last year.

I'm not so sure who will be in the bottom tonight. Like you said, I think that Tony won't be around too much longer. I honestly don't know why they put him through. I think it's only because of his personality because he's not that great of a dancer.

Anyway, that's all that I can think of right now to say. I'm not sure if I'll be able to watch it tonight, but I'll be PVR'ing it!

yes! I agree! Man I loved last night!!!!!!!!

lisaloo i think your talking about the 'bleeding love' one from last year right? I know which one your talking about and I had loveddddd it.

I agree with everything that was said. I had to watch the samba twice last night cause it was so awesome. And the judges were hilarious how they just loved so much of them.

Kathy - great recap!! I totally agree with everyone's thoughts. Tony was so blah and this was his genre!!

I looved the bollywood!! I love that music and their costumes. Um ya the kiss - no one commented on it! It was totally real!!! I also loved the lycrical hip hop, the samba at the end and i like Ade and Melissa - Ade is awesome - he may be up there in my faves.

Brandon - although VERY good - does irk me a bit, i dunno. I mean i dont hate him like Mia and i think he is an amazing dance but something about him rubs me the wrong way...But i really like Jenette his partner

Will be interesting to see who goes tonight

Thanks Yael!

I forgot to mention the kiss! That was totally not part of the dance, Kaitlyn looked (happily) surprised about it...haha that's cute! I'm shocked none of the judges said anything about it though, seems odd.

Yeah, Tony is blahhhhhhhhhhhh. He's a cute kid and all but seriously, I hope he's one of the first to leave...he's just not on par with the other dancers and I feel bad for him because of that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
