Not Happy with the Paradisus Romance Manager!!!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I am so frustrated with the Romance Manager for the Paradisus Punta Cana!!! When I first got engaged my FI did not want to talk about any wedding plans...he wanted to just enjoy the engagement and I was so upset because I wanted to jump right in :) Well 6 weeks after he proposed he asked me what Island I wanted to get married at...completely out of nowhere. So I immediately said Dominican Republic, Punta Cana, so he said okay lets start looking into hotels. After doing some research, I narrowed it down to the Excellence and the Paradisus, but bc the Excellence is adult only I went with the Paradisus. So I went online and filled out the mini app so that someone would get back to me and she did! Teresa is Romance Manager of North America for the Paradisus contacted me and was so thorough with her emails that I was extremely pleased and wanted to move forward but I still had some questions. So I asked her to call me, she emailed me back and stated that she was leaving to DR to help with the additional brides that they had to relocated from their Mexico locations bc of the swine flu and that she would get back to me on May 19 which was right after her return. I completely understood the circumstances and waited anxiously for her 12 day trip to be over so that I can move forward with my wedding plans. Mind you that in her last email she told me that the 2010 dates were booking fast!!!!!!!! uuggh the anxiety. So I called her on May 19 and left a message for her to call me and I know its only two days later but I haven't recieved a phone call or an email. I know that she must be behind bc she was out of the office for 12 days but I really need to speak to someone or im going to explode...I really want to send out my STD's by next month so that all of my guests have exactly one year notice and I want to book my photographer who is also extremely popular (photosouvenir) and I'm afraid of loosing the date....UUUGGHHH. I know that I might sound irrational bc its only been two days but after reading other threads on here and reading about how people received a response either that same day or the next makes me question choosing the paradisus.

Sorry for this extremely long venting session, but I had to get it out!!!!!!!!

I am not getting Married at Paradisus Punta Cana, but I am getting married at Paradisus Palma Real and they sent out an email say this is high season for weddings, so it might take a while to get back to all of our emails. And if you WC was gone for 12 days then I would put money on it that she is swamp right now. All I can say is be Patience she will get back to you and like you have already stated it has only been two day. I wouldn't stress out about this yet.

No, I didn't get to send anything in because she was leaving for DR. She asked me to email her my number and the best time for her to reach me for May 19 the day of her return. When I got home from work and I still hadnt heard anything, so i called and left her a message.

The only thing that is freaking me out is that in her last email on May 5 she wrote that the 2010 dates were already booking fast...so now I'm nervous that I'm not going to get the day/time that i want. Because I'm a guidance counselor I only have the summer months to choose from, however, this is my FI busiest time with his business, so we need to make accomodations asap.

I know its frustrating...... I hate being left hanging, but I've come to accept that as part of planning a DW. I wouldn't get to upset just yet under the circumstances, like you said she is likely swamped but by all means vent!!!! Get it out, that's why we're here! Just think how relieved you'll be once everything is confirmed. I remember feeling the exact same way when I was waiting on dates. But DON'T WORRY :) It will all work out!

Try not too stress! I know it's hard.. I was stressing too... but Teresa is great (I have been working with her also) I only booked my March 2010 date about a month ago, and she said the same thing about booking up fast, but I did have about 10 days I could choose in March that were still available. Chances are if she hasn't responded to you, she hasn't really responded to a lot of people (thus, you date not being taken). When you do tell her the exact date you want, she will give you about 5 days to fill everything out and make sure you are still happy with the date. I stressed a lot at first too, but once she gets back to you, I guarantee you will be so relieved at how easy it is, as she is so very helpful (more so when not as busy :) Anyways, good luck to you, and I'm sure everything will work out! :)

i *just* booked with Paradisus Punta Cana yesterday. it's funny, i would send in an email asking questions and it would take a couple of days for them to respond. but right when i sent in the payment info, she emailed me back that night. i've been happy with the service so far though. i'm pleased that they took the payment seriously and put in the extra effort to respond quickly. i imagine they get a ton of inquiries, so i've been patient. i feel your pain though. our wedding isn't until August and i was getting all worried about getting the date.

I hope they get back to you soon!!! keep us updated!

(oh, i've been dealing with Inoska Rosario, not Teresa. maybe you can try shooting her an email?)

I didn't have to put down a deposit for our PPC wedding....

My advice to you would be to email her again (and call again) and list your top 3 wedding dates so she will know upon reading your email/getting your voice mail what your preferences are. Then, she will be able to put you down for whichever date is available w/o having to go back and forth over dates. Also ask her to confirm which date she has booked you for. You may also want to list the time preferences so you don't get your preferred date but a 10am wedding if you want a 4pm wedding, y'know?

GOOD LUCK!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
