I'm pretty bummed out...

I've always found Cheaptickets and Orbitz to have the best deals going. I looked into your time frame and found them to be about $1831 pp which is not that much cheaper, but cheaper nonetheless.

Thank you so much everyone!! I haven't been feeling well at all so I wasn't able to check your responses yesterday, but I will definately look around more.

I think the only person that is having a fit is my aunt. She can be quite the b**** sometimes!! It just pisses me off because I asked from day one what price range she would be ok with and never got a response. Now the price range went from $1200-$1400 (when we were planning to go to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic) to $1500-$1600 now in RM. She is the type of person that would go to Florida for a week and spend $1000 on her trip but throws a fit about these prices...

I just decided that we will go where WE want to go! I know that no matter where we go, our parents and siblings will be there, and to be honest, that is really all who matters to me. If she can't afford $200 more, then I guess we will be bringing her back some fabulous pictures!! :)

Thanks so much for all of your suggestions everyone!! You are all so great and I am so thankful I found this forum! I wouldn't be able to do this without all of your support and ideas :)

i wouldn't fret yet...secrets capri is one of the more expensive resorts but you have to realize, may is pretty far away and apple is one of the few suppliers that have their rates in that early...they do charter air alot of times but i prefer not to use charter air so most may 2008 air rates are not even out yet...the ones that are are not any "deals'.

another thing, apple is NOT my cheapest supplier so i really only use them in a pinch.

Well, I just read through this thread for the first time Amy & I was sooooooo glad to come to this post of yours. You two need to get married where YOU want to, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. It doesn't matter how much it costs (within reason!) but those who are supposed to be there and are the most important will be there- they will find a way. Those that complain about the price can , just as you said, look forward to seeing some nice pictures. Just because you're having a DW doesn't mean everyone has to come!

Do you have a TA? I would highly suggest securing one to do your room block.. you will save sooo much money...

Thanks fo the advice Tammy, I will keep that in mind!! I may be cotacting you about your TA services soon also!

Sarah, thanks for reminding me of that!! Aaron's mom keeps saying that but it is hard not to worry about others. I am definately getting better though! With all of this "freaking out" about the Secrets prices, I got some time to look at some other resorts also. I really like the El Dorado Royale and El Dorado Seaside Suites, as well as The Royal PDC, Aventura Spa Palace and Paradisus Riviera Cancun... too many choices!! If anyone has any thoughts/comments about any of these places, my ears are open!!

I TOTALLY agree with Glenda! Similar thing happened with me. The rates were higher than what I wanted my guests to pay. But, we went ahead anyway and so far about half of the people who have booked reserved 3 nights, the other half reserved 6. If they want to be there, they will find a way!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
