Hi ladies...

I cant seem to find the updated Wedding Contract, ugh but I did find one based on 50 people, so you girls can subtract or add...

I went with the Ultimate Dreams Package which included dinner for 20 people so i was obligated to pay for 30 more.

Additional people 30 $42usd +15%service charge+10%tax per person

I had a few kids so THEY were 50% off !!!

Suggested Time 6-9pm

Place: Gazebo, Garden Area for Cocktail, Beach for Dinner

Music: I chose the Trio for cocktail hour and it was so worth it, everyone loved it

Set Up: I went with round tables, tikki torches INCLUDED with no additional cost, and white chair covers. I didnt decorate the gazebo, Claudia has sand ceremony vases there, if you are sweet to her she might let you borrow them so that you wont have to travel with them. Then she gives you the sand in a bag to bring back home. lol

If you decide to go with the decore of the gazebo it runs you about $255. +10% tax

Chair bows run you at $4.00 each plus 10% tax... I didnt go for either.

Cake: I chose my own cake, NO CHARGE for it. I EXPLAINED TO HER I WANTED IT PLAIN AND FLAT TO GIVE IT THAT FOUNDOUT LOOK and I JUST ADDED A FEW FLOWERS TO THE TOP OF IT. VERY SIMPLE YET CLASSY

I went with 1/2 vanilla and 1/2 strawberry.. it was very yummy. I went with this because your dinner already comes with something very sweet as a desert so anything else sweeter will just kill it. hahah Im glad I didnt upgrade my cake, hardly anyone ate cake just the kids.

MUSIC: I hired DJ Mannia, he was absolutely worth every penny, I got the illuminated dance floor also. The DJ was $180 +10% tax. an hour and the dance floor was $800 +10% tax. I got a discount once I got there on this, I think they were giving out discounts to the brides of BDW and I was able to get 30% off. i tipped him $100.00 TOTAL PAID WAS $647.00

FLOWERS: I didnt upgrade my bouquet, I went with something simple. I got a boutonniere for my hubby and one for my father and son. I got 2 corsages for my mother and my mother in law=FREE

I made my own bridesmaids bouquets..

CHAMPAGNE: The package comes with enough champagne to serve 20 people so anything about 20 you had to buy a bottle at $35.00usd +15%service... Keep in mind, KIDS DONT DRINK! HAHAHAH And if you and your husband will be off taking photos like us and the kids wont be drinking during cocktail hour, negotiate this... DO NOT PAY FOR non drinking guests.

A bottle of champagne serves 6 people. You will get 3 appetizers during your cocktail hour. I negotiated 4.. 2 hot and 2 cold. The Shrimp tempura was amazing and the shrimp wrapped in bacon was also a huge success. I didnt eat since I was out taking photos.

HAIR, MAKEUP: I did my own makeup, so I traded that for credit towards my centerpieces. I did my hair there also.

CENTERPIECES: I paid $150.00 for each centerpiece but I paid for some of them with the credit from not using their photographer or the makeup person.

I never got the couples massage, i was just too busy and missed my appointment. I did get a coffee wrap the day of the wedding... It works miracles let me tell you girls...and its the best pampering ever.

You get 15% off all spa treatments, since it was during the swine flu time all my guests and I got 30% off so we all got coffee wraps. lol Takes the cellulite away temporarily and makes u sweat out your fat from your stomach to make you look hot on your wedding night.

PHOTOGRAPHER: CECILIA DUMAS, she really worked with me on everything.. I negotiated for her to give me all my photos on a cd and some prints and a Trash your dress session the following day for under $2500, I think I paid $2100.00

The ceremony can be extended for extra timing at $10.00+15%+10%tax per person. I negotiated and got kids free and also got a discount on the cost.

She also has a cake topper there from one of the brides on this site if anyone is interested, I think it reads JUST MARRIED.

I got a regular room through my travel agent and I got upgraded to the honeymoon suite. It was wonderful, and they send you special surprises everyday and afternoon.

GROOM GETS A ROOM THE NIGHT B4 ALSO IF THERE IS AVAILABILITY

DVD: ITS A MUST, DO NOT TRADE THIS... = FREE

I also got the white flags to place around our reception area, I got 5 of them and those were a total of $192

I negotiated the dolphin swimming also. I spoke with several people until I was able to do all 4 of us for $100.00

I negotiated the jet skiis with the guy down the beach.. not the one who works for Dreams but the one to the left by the bar at $40.00 an hour. Dreams was charging $70.00.

Ok ladies anything else please ask, not sure what I left out..shitfan.gif

Claudia was my WC... she is a total sweetheart. Maybe once you tip her you can ask her again. Im sure she wont have a problem arranging some stuff with you. or maybe try tipping her once you get there before she starts the meeting.

What a great review!!! I loved everything! You looked beautiful.

I went to pronovias this weekend and tried on some Manuel Mota dresses but I didn't see one similar to this one. DO you mind telling me the name of the dress? (The one I loved was by Manuel Mota and the name of the dress is Trovador). I do like the fun bottom on yours though so please let me know the name of it!

Also - I'd like more info from you on Cecilia Dumas and also DJ Mannia.

I got the prices from DJ Mannia but I was more interested in what you had to say about the music. Was it music that was up to date? Did you have to give him a list?

Cecilia Dumas - do you have a link to a slideshow or anything she provided you? We are considering her for our photographer and so I'd like to see more of her photos.

Wedding coordinator - I will be getting married at a different resort. But do you mind telling us how much you tipped her? We are considering doing the same thing with ours!

Thanks!!!

i was thinking the same thing. does anyone know how much we should tip the wedding coordinator (aside from the 15% that's added to the package total?)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
