Nice work Helen and Bo I was just going to direct to that thread too!

Welcome to the forum Holly! I was married at the Jalisco next door to the Vallarta and I rented the pool side bar but I can't recall how much it was. I want to say $350 for the evening? Shucks I can't remember... it was so long ago. I'll double check just to make sure.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! The RIU Vallarta is a very nice place and your treated like royalty there! You have to go to the Sir George a la carte as it is absolutely wonderful! Make sure your room is high up as the courtyard bar is very noisy at night time! Bring a pair of water shoes as the rocks in the ocean (as well as the sea creatures) are always in abundance! You may actually see sting rays jumping out of the water! Overall it was a wonderful experience (hence why we are getting married there!!!) and the weather is always fantastic! Make sure to go to the town of Bucerias and go into town on the boardwalk. If you feel a little light headed at night time its because they spray something in the air... bug repellant? Hmmmm just trying to think of the things you need to know when going... Oh yes lock up all your valuables in your safe no matter how nice everyone is. A couple we met there had things stolen from their rooms (camera) and others had their doors left open. That is my only negative comment. As usual don't drink the tap water, bring an insulated mug, LOTS of sunscreen (I brought SPF 70 and still got red at times) and don't forget about the disco! Some nights are better than others. Well I think thats all, if you have any questions about the resort feel free to msg me!

All the best,

Holly

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
