Anyone doing a privacy sign for ceremony??

Recommended Posts

We are thinking of doing a privacy sign for our beach ceremony. Something along the lines of, "please respect our privacy for our wedding". Anyone done this or thinking of doing this?

That sounds like it might be a good idea. I'm worried about a million people being in the background of my pics because we can't afford to do a completely private ceremony. I'm interested to see if anyone else has done this.

We could always use the free signs on VistaPrint for this DIY!!

From the weddings that I've seen, the hotel does a good job of clearing a section off for the wedding. Either way, you're still going to have people hanging around. Something about weddings that people can't keep away. From the ones that I've seen, people are always respectful and just happy to be around it.

It would be good to hear what others have done.

I'm not. I think people may take offense and disobey. I think it is inferred and people just understand that they were not invited. I haven't heard of anyone having probs at our resort from past brides, but if you are worried it might not be a bad idea. I would talk to the wedding coordinator and see what policies they have inplace to keep people out of wedding territory during ceremony.

I think it would depend on the layout of where you are getting married.

My brother just got married at the Mona Surfrider in Honolulu and had a big problem with people standing there and watching (but they knew in advance that this would happen).

They got married on a lawn looking onto the beach. There was a fence that separated the lawn from the beach but once beach-goers saw a wedding was going on they all lined up along the fence and were literally an arm's length away from where the bridal party was standing. I don't think there would've been anything they could've done to prevent what happened but the photographer said he could photoshop all the people out.

It was actually kind-of funny to see all the people standing there and I guess that is what you are to expect at the location they choose. One bright spot was that one of the people watching was a semi-pro photographer who ended up taking pictures of the wedding. He found one of the groomsmen and swapped email addresses and then burned a whole disc of great photos for my brother and his wife. The photos were fantastic!

Good luck and post pictures if you come up with a sign!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
