Recommended Posts

Oooh I needed this thread! So far my colors are teal and orange and I have been having the toughest time imagining how the table would come together. You all gave some great ideas - thanks!

Hello ladies!

Also an orange/blue bride here. (Though my blue is much darker.)

Can't believe how much inspiration I'm getting from you girls! It's a hard color combo to get a lot of ideas from!

I'm getting married June of next year, and am using the bird of paradise as our theme. (It was the first flower arrangement he got me... when he was trying to win me over... ;D )

Been scouring the internet for Bird of Paradise invitations, and either I love them and they're too pricey, or they're just plain dull...

so I'm going to do-it-myself!

I made this design using Photoshop.

Just imagine this inside an orange pocketfold!

Then, someone else used this b4 too... but I loved it so much I have to steal!

Inspiration for my tablescape:

Our resort's restaurant only has the dark blue linens and only has long rectangle tables, so instead of that turquoise it will be dark blue, and the flowers, of course, I'm hoping to have birds of paradise. I'll probably have to bring the vases, etc... but I'll think about that when the time gets to it.

Oh, and for our napkins.. this bird of paradise fold, but in orange! I'm thinking about inserting the menu cards standing up... but we'll see!

Yay! What do you ladies think?

Thanks for your inspiration!

I am also using the same colors. When I figure out how to upload photos I'll send you a pic of our invites.

I'm having troubles finding the right BM dresses. My hope is to alternate between the 2 colors, since one of my bridesmaids refuses to wear orange.

That's also been a problem for me!

Not sure where to find a cocktail orange dress that the girls won't suffocate in.

Plus, since I am only having 3 bridesmaids, I was hoping to have my MOH in the blue.

Any ideas ladies? Would be very helpful!

I'm also an orange and aqua Bride-to-be! My girls' dresses will be a dark aqua and will have orange flowers, same with my bouquet (I think!) I'm still undecided on whether to have orange flowers or white orchids as my bouquet. Decor will be aqua and orange.

I just bought my bridesmaid dresses at the Limited and they are considered "turqoise" but look a bit more green to me (in person). I love them and they are super light and perfect for a beach wedding. I am thinking of using orange as an accent color and for the flowers since we are doing tropical lilies.

More brides with our colours - seems everyone is doing orange and fuschia! So glad there is this thread. My colours are truquoise and orange. Turqusoise is my main colour with splashes of bright orange.

I started a few DIY's this weekend as it has been a crappy weekend weather wise.....snow! Yes you heard right - the white fluffy stuff that comes at christmas, came knocking on our doors friday night and its still here...ugh! I hate living this close to the mountains sometimes....Calgary weather sucks! LOL On the bright side, I got some DIY"s done. I dont have any inspiration boards, but I can post what I have done thus far in those colours......

I have done my sandlewood fans as well as my OOT bag thank you tags. I am also working on the package I'm putting together to ask my FSIL to be my maid of honor. I will post that once I am done.

Oh and here are my monograms that were made by Becks from Allurements by Rebecca. She did a fantastic job and I would highly reccomend her if anyone needs a monogram done!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
