Ask all guests to wear my colors

Recommended Posts

i've seen all-white weddings, and ones where everyone was asked to wear a shade of blue, and both looked wonderful in pics. i think you may run into a problem only because your colors are so bright (works much easier with neutrals) and many people don't seem to care for orange or yellow at all (i found this out the hard way ... you'll notice my colors are similar ... i LOVE them and think they look so tropical, but i heard so many people say things like "i hate orange" or "i look terrible in yellow" ... i stuck more with the dark red myself). good luck! i think it can look pretty amazing if you pull it off!

Great question! I was thinking about this as well. I figure that if our wedding group is going to be small, it would look great if everyone was wearing a similar palette of colours. I think that the pictures would look great because it would look like everyone was part of the wedding party, just not the BMs, GMs etc. My first thought was to ask everyone to wear colours in a seashell palette (i.e. ivory, light brown, pale pink etc.) so it would basically just be neutral colours.

Like the OP, I was wondering if anyone else has tried this? I think it would be cool but is it asking too much of your guests? I wouldn't want to set myself up for disappointment on my wedding day if someone didn't show up in an approved colour =) But, it's going to be hot in Jamaica anyway so why wouldn't you want to wear light colours?

Any feedkback/experiences on this? How would you feel if you were asked to do this for a wedding?

Whilst in the dominican a few weeks ago we watched a few weddings and i said then i would ask my guests to dress with my colours in mind. There was a lot of older women in black and white and brown tones all the younger guests were in hot colours and they added to the atmosphere.I also think you can get away with this my saying smart casual, and maybe no black.I think it adds to the excitement especially for the ladies anyway x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
