We have a long 10 hour flight to Hawaii (with no meal provided on the flight.) Anyway, we were thinking instead of the regular OOT bags, that we could give everyone a bag of snacks & goodies (chips, candy, cards, activities, etc.) when we all arrive at the aiport (prior to check-in.) I just know that we are personally going to have to pack snacks b/c we can't be on a plane from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm with no food :) What are your opinions on this??

What airline are you on?? It's been my experience that over a certain amount of hours of flight travel an airline will provide food from the mainland to Hawaii, or provide some kind of food for purchase.

It's still a long flight though! I think a Airplane goody-bag is a nice gesture. I'm sure it will be appreciated.

that is a really good idea!!! i think your friends/family would love it and it's such a nice gesture! wouldn't be hard to assemble, i'm sure.

good thinking!! haven't even gotten close to getting travel info together but when i do, if we are sharing flights with ppl, might have to steal this idea!!

good call...........

i think its a really fun idea! just make sure not to pack any liquid/gel/cream type snack and foods, as they wont make it past security (even if its under 3 oz, if its not stored in their own personal quart size bag it will get pulled and confiscated.)

is the flight really 10 hours from indiana to hawaii? i was thinking it was more like 8 hours. wow thats long! its non stop? craziness! so yes i think thats a great idea, plus, think of all the room you dont have to use in your own suitcases to transport the usual OOT supplies all the way there! awesome idea! you'll get rid of all of it before the trip even begins!

just make sure to let everyone know to keep enough room in THEIR carry on's, and dont forget to make a couple extra for you and FI :)

Abbie, we actually fly to Chicago first, which is an hour, then on to Maui which is 9 hours, so all in all it adds up to 10 hours sad.gif Oh well, the end result (being in Maui), is so worth it. Now, I don't know if I'll feel that way about the trip home :) Thanks for boosting my ego ladies & saying my idea is a good one smile29.gif!!!!!

I think I am off to Sam's to find some snacks for my airplane goody bags!!!

Ugh. United. Yeah, a good bag for the flight is a great idea, especially if you have to transfer planes and for some reason there is a delay... like what happened to me yesterday... so nothing to eat all day except for some fruit I had early in the morning!

My vote is candy bars! You can get a max pack at Costco. Or you can make your own GORP/trail-mix and put it in ziplog bags with your logo sticker on it. wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
