moon light and a little sparkle - tvt's proposal story

Recommended Posts

I'm starting our website and finally wrote out our engagment story and thought I'd share with you all!

I go to Florida numerous times a year for work and always bug Joe about coming with me. One time it worked out perfectly and Joe decided to come with. We went for a long weekend and were pretty busy touring hotels and the city the entire time. Everyday we kept saying "tonight we'll go out to the beach, we have to make it there before we leave". Each night it didn't happen. So finally it was our last night there. We were both ready to go home but knew we had to get to the beach before we left. So we grab some beers from the lobby bar and head towards the sand. It's pitch black out at this point and we can't really see where the path is that goes to the beach. So we decide to sit on a bench just before the sand and enjoy our beers and the sound of the ocean rolling in. Joe starts talking about how we've been dating for a long time, how perfect we are together and I'm sitting there going "yup, yup, I know" thinking that he's just being his usual cheesy self. Then all of a sudden he's on one knee and holding up something that is catching the moon light and sparkling. Then he asks "will you marry me" I start hysterically laughing saying "are you kidding me?!" he's like "uh, no. so will you marry me" me "yes, yes, of course i will" He puts the ring on me and I cannot stop laughing, and hugging and kissing him. Then I say "we have to go back to our room! I need to see this ring... and call my parents!"

YAY TARA!!! I'm so glad you posted your story! Haha, you're so funny... I love that you were laughing - lol and that you had to go back to the hotel so you could see it!!

Was he waiting for you two to go to the beach to propose, or was he going to do it on that night regardless?

That's a good question!! I know he had the ring before we went to FL, and I think he had something else planned, but then when FL came up he decided to do it on the beach because it's perfect for the two of us.

I think otherwise he was going to do it at the bar we met at! Ha, that would've been even funnier!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
