I hired Paula & Damian as well - I think their photography is amazing - once the wedding is over, all you have are your pictures - once I added up everything that I wanted from the other Jamaican photographers, it came out about even. Paula has been extremely responsive and super sweet - she just sent me a slideshow of a wedding at my resort because it's newer than most and she wanted me to see how the pics came out there. The level of customer service makes her worthwhile to me as well. You get what you pay for.

Yes I agree they are nice and quick to respond but there are others out there if you look! Their pictures are nice too, but really $4-8000 canadian is purely insane. I am in the process of booking with Brian Nejedly is is very quick to respond, very nice and very afforadable! If all you have left after the wedding is pictures then that is not too good?? I hope to have a lot of wonderful memories and a beautiful tan to boot LOL

Hi Jersey Kitten

I am actually getting married April 2010 as well at the GP Lady Hamilton!!! I was just reading the post about Sun gold were thinking of booking them but Paula and Damian are booked for our day April 28th so we will need to use there associates. Are you worried about the resort and how were are not suppose to use the local photographer's. Just wondering how you feel about this as Paula told me they know everyone its a small town so we may get charged from the resort. Just wondering if you have heard anything on what would happen? Is True Colors that bad do you know?

Thanks Lisa

Hi Lisa,
I am getting married at the Palladium in October and have booked one of Sungold's associates (RS). I have booked the photographer a room at the resort so he will be a guest of the hotel (I don't think they can do much about that because the room in paid for). Paula told me that would be the best route to go. She also said she doesn't think we will have any issues because they have done a few weddings there already. Not sure about you but I know I have not read or signed anything from the resort saything that I cannot use an outside photographer. I am not planning on telling them as the photographer will be a guest of the hotel.

Have you looked at True Colors website? I don't think their pictures are that bad but the photos are really important to me so I wanted to go with a photographers whose pictures I really love. Plus I didn't want to be limited by the number of pictures taken (True Colors packages go by number of pictures instead of hours). Hope that helps. I will let you know how things work out with the photographer and the resort.

Lisa - I sent you a message via your personal email yesterday.

I don't think you need to book a room for your photographer - Paula told me she has had no issues getting into Grand Palladium to do photography. When I asked her about it she said:

"We have photographed at Grand Palladium and never had a problem, so not sure what rule your speaking about. We have always just checked in, maybe that is why we never had a problem. In fact I was told by one bride that they recommended us, so go figure."

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
