Villas and A Matter of Taste

Recommended Posts

Hi girls! I realize there are several posts regarding villas, but my FI and I are strongly considering the Villa Amanda, Villa Anne-Lei, Villa Serena group of villas and were wondering if anyone has any experience with these. I've contacted cabovillas.com but have not heard back yet. An earlier post from NYJEN (whose posts have been sooo helpful in the villa search!) stated that there was no event fee for villa amanda and I was wondering if anyone knew if this was still the case. We'd like to be married on the private beach, have cocktails on the deck, dinner on the beach and back to the deck for dancing (the beach is literally in the back yard)! Any feedback? Also, theses villas will only let you use "A Matter of Taste" for catering. Any experience with them? We'll be doing our site visit in October so any info will help! Thanks!

Hi Donnie,

I'm doing a Villa Wedding also, and Villa Amanda, Annie-Lei, and Serena were all recommended by my wedding planner. She told me that there's no event fee for Villa Amanda, Serena & Annie-Lei. There is a 2 night minimum stay, plus the fourth night free. I was told that the owners are willing to negotiate the nightly rate, like most owners.

Hope this helps.

Kimberley

  • 2 months later...

hi ladies,

I'm also planning a wedding at these 3 villas. We are renting all 3 for 4 nights. My concern is that for a party of 60 it would not allow for a dance floor. (Reception at villa amanda) And i have not heard about using an exclusive caterer from our agent. Which villa rental company are you using?

Cammie,

I went through cabovillas.com, however, when I was looking into these villa a few months back I was told that they were currently up for sale and could not be guaranteed for our wedding date (which is in 2011) because they could have new owners by that time. Were you aware of this? Since our wedding is so far out we decided to not take any chances and have decided on cabo del sol. It offers the private setting we want, without having to worry about finding a new place at the last minute because our villas were sold.

As far as the dance floor though, We had planned on about 50 guests and we were told there would be plenty of room. We also had planned to have dinner set up on the beach or at one of the other villas, so that we wouldn't have to worry about moving tables for the dance floor. good luck!

Donnie,

We asked about that since I read your post on them being for sale. Our wedding is April 2010. We were told that if they do sell the property they would include that in the sale contract that the new owners would have to honor any exsisting contracts to rent the villa so that put our minds at ease.

Im having my WC do a site visit and get back with me regarding if there would be enough room. Another idea she gave me was to install pexiglass over the swimming poo and that would serve as our dancefloor! But sounds kinda expensive!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
