Your pictures are sooo beautiful...your veil was crazy long hey...It looked pretty blowing in the wind. For the poolside reception do they set up the lights around the pillar or did you have to upgrade that. Also how much did the reception cost per person (food and open bar) Also did you just book it when you got there with Chandlyn or were you able to do it ahead of time? How far in advance did you work with Sheila's bakery. Sorry for all the questions....Thanks in advance...and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything looked amazing :)

Thanks so much for sharing your info. I am leaving this coming Saturday and getting married Tues May 19th. Quick question... did you have the option of renting a DJ? I have my music on a CD and am a little worried about how I am going to get to play it at the reception.. Also, what was the weather like? I have been looking at the weather channel and it is calling for rain and thunder everyday for the whole week!!! A am a little scared!

Thanks a bunch!

Thanks for sharing! I was really looking forward to your reception pics! The set up was beautiful! All the extra lights u had really enhanced the location. I am glad that overall everything went well!

What flavor was your cake? Was that the smallest size cake that Sheila offers? When did she deliver the cake? How much did she charge for delivery?

I know that u bought your own Ipod docking station, but did Chandlyn have an Ipod docking station that u could use during the wedding ceremony and reception?

Congratulations!

Yeah, my veil was super long but I loved it!! They already seem to have the lights set up around the pillars, so there was no fee for that. The reception was $55 per person and included food, alcohol, and table setup. My niece is 2 and we did not have to pay anything for her. I booked it way in advance through my TA, maybe last summer (so like 9 months ago?) but if its available you would be able to book it with Chandlyn. In terms of Sheila's, my TA worked on that with her. I maybe gave them my picture of what I wanted it to look like a month before.

Good luck!! You will love it!! I did have the option for a DJ but I think it was something like $250 per person, and not worth it for us. The weather was PERFECT! The weather report showed rain every day, but it only rained early in the morning (like before 7 or 8 am) and then once at 4 for 20 mins or so.

Brian is awesome! My entire family loved him and complemented me on the choice all night. He was with us from about 3-9:30. He took probably 1000 photos and gave me 600+

I really loved the setup too! It was more than I imagined! My cake was vanilla with a strawberry and some sort of cream filling with butter cream frosting. I just showed them a pic that another bride had and she replicated that, so I am sure that it could have been smaller but by that point I was so over making decisions! All I know is I wanted a 2-tier!! She did deliver the cake, and I think it was included in the $300 price. I saw my cake coming in when I was taking pics.

I do not think that Chandlyn has a docking station. I know she has some sort of boombox, and it might have an AUX imput that you can connect your IPod to. For the ceremony, she had a mic set up for us to speakers, so I am sure they can do that with the boombox. We justified the Bose because it was way cheaper than the DJ!!

Yeah Jim strung them on fishing wire and secured each flower with hot glue. Took him 4 hours. But it looked really pretty without and it was really really windy, so I wasn't too upset. Flowers were bought from Hobby Lobby.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
