Post Groom and GM attire

Recommended Posts

Laurelyn we are doing the same thing!!!!!! FI in a jacket (no tie) and GM just in pants and shirt!!! I love the look and think it makes the Bride and Groom stand out against their group, also I know our GM will be happy not to wear a jacket and it goes with our casual elegance vibe we want!!!!!

Thanks for the link I will check it out, I didn't see any in store the last time I was in but we could always order online!

I wish I could do JC Penny but with us in BC and his Groomsmen in Ont its just easier to choose a store that we all have close by.  Oh and the RW&Co ones are defentily not wrinkle free they were quite bad in the store even but hey maybe it will add an even more casual vibe worried2.gif lol

if your worried about the sizes.....they fit true to size, and you can save on shipping and get it sent to one place, and send it to others later! its an option

  • 2 weeks later...

We went to Le Chateau too, and just found our outfits for the guys (Still need a shirt for FI).  He really didn't want a jacket, and I'm okay with that.

Initially he tried on the $200 linen pants at Harry Rosen, then I happened to go to Le Chateau (for Canadian Brides) and they have all of their linen summer stuff on clearance.  FH actually liked the Le Chateau pants better!   Now we just need to find a white long sleeved light shirt for him.  We found the groomsmen shirts there too, light green short sleeved linen.  Here's the Best Man, and a bridesmaid checking him out (conveniently they started dating a while ago. Lol).  They also have some deal with now where if you buy so much clearance stuff you get some free. So we got 3 shirts and 3 pants (plus pants and a pashmina for me) for $200. I suggest you check it out if your still looking!

So glad I read this and went with Le Chateau instead of RW&Co way better quality.  Managed to get the jacket shirt and pants for $230.  Not only is everything on sale but they have a promotion where if you spend $200 you get $50 free of stuff.  There are variations to this deal so definitely check out it.

Last time I checked it was all regular price, I will have to head out and check again!!! My only fear is that they wont fit FI properly because I find le chateau mens runs a little small........

For Canadian Brides: It was mentioned in another thread that International Clothiers has linen on sale cheap cheap cheap too!!!!

I wanted to post some informal / guests / guys just being GUYS at weddings, with a little emphasis on what they are wearing... hope this helps with some VISUAL examples on beach wear for men on the BIG DAY.

A few key points***

1.  Love the HAT as the additional accessory!   Keeps the harsh sun out of the eyes and makes for fun photos... guys love to RELAX, roll up pants, take shoes OFF and enjoy a cerveza!

2.  Guys like pockets too, always in need of a handy place to store a cold one.

3.  For most recent "What guys wear" be sure to just check out the blog where we put lots of recent updates :)

How hard is it to IRON?  Can they even do it?   Remember this while packing and or choosing cloths.

I love the VEST addition for the groom, UN-TUCKED works so well too for the groomsmen as a transition away from the slightly more formal groom look here, hats a BONUS.

Flowers, they are ALWAYS given to men and somehow, they end up by themselves (or helping each others) attaching their flower.   Our recommendation is to only have a flower if it will go on a jacket lapel, otherwise the boutineer won't hold its form so well on the bare shirt try...

Here is another thing to remember, Jackets look SO nice, but they guys SWEAT wearing them.... This is a candid shot as the bride arrives at the isle, but you can see one of his guys is taking batch and using a towel to wipe his sweat.  Basically its always hot here, 75+ usually, sometimes being in the shade is nicer and sometimes next to the ocean breeze is amazing.... guys always take jackets off at the reception.   A nice embroidered hanky  towel gift for them might be a cool idea :)

Big contrast here, guys wearing light and un-tucked and groom in Navy darker colors...

King of kings, ok...  I like these accessories and the RED tie rocks on the off white suit.    With the Crown and Robe, ummm...  BIG PERSONALITY.

This one is nice for a color contrast... darker tie, white shirt.   Great look after peeling off the jacket....

remember the rolled up look for the pants if your going to take a stroll, get splashed by a wave, wife, whatever :)

a few more coming soon :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
