Post Groom and GM attire

Recommended Posts

So...suprisingly...the boys wanted to be ultra formal (especially since they are normally anti-suit lol)

They chose this suit from Dante Zeller Tuxedos:

(It's darker than the picture; more of a bone than white)

FI will be wearing it as pictured with vest and a beautiful striped white/orange/blue tie...

The groomsmen will be wearing the suit with paisley print blue and orange ties...like these:

Yea! I finally bought Doug's shirt for the wedding, I've been looking and looking and finally found one at Macy's (I did NOT see the same one online at all.) Extra yea!, it was on sale for $29.00 and its 100% silk. I love the little buttons, and it has a subtle pineapple pattern. It's soooo soft, and it's the perfect shade of ivory to match my dress, plus the type of silk has the same matte finish like the satin of my dress. Love Love Love it and it looks sooo good on him too! Couldn't get him to pose for me tho sad.gif Now I just need to find the other guys stuff!

Update:

To be a little more casual during the reception, the boys decided to purchase white Cubavera shirts from Macys (about $40.00)! Here's a picture of a similar version:

They are so awesome in person!

Also, here are their shoes (59.00 at Zappos; got them for 40.00 at Underground Station!):

Found FIs suit last night at Kohls for $135. I orginally got him a cream suit that was the same color as my dress but I really like this better so the first suit is going back as soon as i get off my butt and get dressed. The pic shows his suit next to the shawl from my dress

We got FI's suit at Kohl's on sale for $139.99, and I ordered the tie from Ann Taylor. My MOH and flower girl will both be wearing dresses in this green color(from Ann Taylor). My BM will have a pink dress and we're hoping she'll have some material leftover to make a pink sash for the flower girl. I also ordered green ties for both dad's. I think the GM and ring bearers will just wear khaki pants and a white shirt, but we haven't decided yet.

OK, one more thing to check off our list! smile159.gif

We saw this suit on sale and couldn't pass it up! It is Seersucker and a light brown/yellow and white stripe. He is going to wear a white button down (maybe a texture - not sure yet) and no tie.

Here are the shirts that we got for the GM to wear. They will be wearing khaki pants as well and be barefoot during the ceremony. (Don't mind the wrinkles, someone shoved a large winter jacket into the closet wrinling the shirts up a bit)

FI will be wearing a white short sleeved shirt and khakis. (Sort of like he worn to this wedding in Cuba, except pants instead of shorts)

RB (our son) will be wearing a white shirt and khaki shorts.

So he finally popped the question and you said....yes! And now the romantic in you wants that perfect beach wedding you have always dreamed about. So the planning begins and of course the most important decision is what the heck are you gonna wear? Yes, we all know your beach wedding dress is the hardest thing to decide on but have you stopped to consider what else you will need to pack? You are going to be frolicking along the beach and in the ocean after all.

Starting with your wedding dress, you must decide on the appropriate fabric that will breathe nicely in the warm weather such as tulle, organza, silk, satin or chiffon. You may even consider a cotton slip dress. Strapless and shorter length dresses are popular, however, in certain destinations it may be cooler on the beach than you originally thought so you may want to stay with a traditionally longer dress or have a shawl handy. Also keep in mind the length of the dress in case you are going barefoot or in sandals as you will be near water and sand. Keep in mind your dress should pack well and that you keep it with you either in a garment bag or carry on when travelling.

Remember to think about the following things when packing your suitcase; what type of beach wedding shoes do you want to wear...heals, sandals, or nothing at all (going barefoot is the latest trend), what kind of jewelry will you wear...traditional diamonds may be too extravagant and you may want to simplify it with pearls or seashell necklaces, earrings and bracelets.

What wedding bikini do you want to wear instead of your regular bikini. What type of wedding loungewear have you considered (there are a lot of fun beach wedding attire you may not have thought of). What is the groom going to wear (sometimes that is even more difficult to figure out than your dress), and have you thought about your garter and wedding lingerie?

Do not forget that your hairstyle is also important part of your whole ensemble...how do you want to wear it so that it will easily and simply compliment the beach surroundings as well as the rest of the attire? Keep in mind you may have a breeze off of the ocean so you may want to rethink wearing it down as it may blow on your face and be an unnecessary distraction. Perhaps a casual updo or some fresh flowers will do instead of a tiara or veil? You may also opt for a wide brim straw hat if you have sensitive skin or think you may be in the sun for an extended period of time. You may need to keep these ideas in mind for the wedding party also as they may have special individual needs.

There are many cute classy styles to go along with your beach wedding theme...so take a journey through these links to make sure your packing checklist is complete. At the end of the day keep comfort and packing issues in the forefront. But mostly remember that you chose to have a beach wedding due to its simplicity so keep things light and carefree.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
