Post Groom and GM attire

Recommended Posts

We finally found a pink tie we agreed on... so I think Sean's outfit is set!

His suit for the ceremony and a cooler option possibly for the reception:

Groomsman will be in matching khakis and a white button up (sorry not the greatest pic... but it has a faint tropical background) and all the guys will be in leather sandals:

Here are the shirts our groomsmen are wearing with ivory pants. I love them! The bridesmaids are wearing mocha brown dresses - so our colors are mocha and teal. The shrits have palm trees in shades of brown - so i hope it is a good compliment to the dresses. We got these for about $70.00 each. We paid for the GM and BM attire for the day out of guilt.

Meagan,
We're acutally renting it. We found at our local Tux rental store called Mr.Tux.
It's called (so you can google it) Chocolate Parisian style 282 (Tone-on-Tone Stripe, 2-Button Tuxedo)by Stephen Geoffrey.
My FI is wearing it like this

the groomsman, same tux as my FI, with this color vest and Tie.

We ordered our suits through an online vendor from Amazon. We paid about $75.00 per suit (after shipping, etc.)!!! Plus, they threw in the garment bags AND silk ties.

They are Super 150s wool, so REALLY lightweight...and we're extremely happy with them.

After talking it through with my fiance we decided to do the more casual look rather than the black suits we had first chosen. So I thought it was going to be hard to find Khaki anything this time of year, but actually most things were on sale. we found our suits at Mexx and they are Khaki with a bit of a pin stripe. we got them really cheap, but we had to drive all over Toronto to find the right sizes. I am really glad we found them and most stores are happy to help if you tell them it's for a wedding.

The groom is wearing khaki suit with white shirt and groomsmen are wearing smae khaki pants as the groom but just the white shirt, no jacket.

I tried to search for this, but couldn't think of the exact term...

Typically, the groom wears something slightly different than the groomsmen (different colored vest, shirt, etc). What if the outfit (ha - FI hates it when I call it that bc men dont wear "outfits") is the same?

My guys (FI, his bro and my bro) are all wearing the same shirt and pants. How do I distinguish the groom? That sounds silly b/c of course I will know which one he is, but in pictures of the guys, I want it to be obvious that he is the groom. Different boutteneires?

Here is the shirt:

I wanted to get your opinion on what my groomsmen should wear. We're getting married on the beach in Mexico in May 2009. My dress is white and my bridesmaids' dresses are turquoise. Since my fiance has very nice brown skin, I'd like to see him in a white suit. However, I'm not too keen on having the groomsmen wear white too. Do you think it would look nice with my FI wearing white and the groomsmen wearing khaki with a turquoise colored tie?

Any piece of advice would be highly appreciated!

These are all from Island Importer. It think the total for all 4 pieces with shipping was under $250!

I am wearing a gown. BM are wearing kind of a cornflower blue. Not my first choice, but David's bridals only has so many shades to choose from. Anyway, GM are wearing khakies and the same navy hawaiian shirt, same as the dads. And my groom is wearing khakies and a white on white hawaiian wedding shirt. I thought our whites would look good. I really wanted him in a linen suit, but he is so picky! And also he is over 6'4 and fairly slim, so he always needs a ton of tailoring done. I swear mens sizing is nuts. Like if you have a big belly, you must have a big neck. And if you are broad in the shoulders, it must mean you have a big belly! Sometimes I am even MORE glad to be a girl!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
