I haven't told my mom about the non-bouts attire, I have a feeling she will have an issue with it as well. haha. We will probably get them for our dad's.

My mom said anyone in the bridal party should have flowers, but I wasn't sure if it would look weird to have a bout with just a dress shirt. What are everyone's thoughts on this? My dad will be doing the same thing, just a dress shirt and pants. Thanks ladies!

All the men for us... best man, fathers, and FI, are wearing dress shirts with pants. No vests or anything. At first I was not sure, but we are going to have bouts. I made them for free here. They are shells. We are getting one flower one included in our package, which FI may wear instead. I have seen pictures that look fine with it just on a plain shirt, and it adds something nice I thought.

Just another perspective!

Do you have a link to the dress shirt your guys are wearing?

We have been having THE hardest time finding his dress shirt - I swear it's harder than my dress was. All the sleeves seem to be so puffy on everything. He ended up buying one from Macy's, the brand Bar III - the link for the exact color isn't online.

Try that one... This is a little different. We got ours last summer and they are long-sleeved I think (and the boys are planning to roll up the sleeves after to keep it casual). This is the short-sleeved version. But it is a similar style and structure.

This is more casual than ours... but you can see the bouts on plain white without a tie or jacket. Again, short sleeves though. But at least you get the idea.

Past brides... Was a tux too much for your groom for a beach wedding?

Hi Melissa14! My husband wore a tux for our wedding @ Dreams Cancun. We got married at the Gazebo but had our Reception on the beach. I was concerned he was going to melt wearing all that clothing, but he was certain that he wanted to wear a tux at his wedding. The temp was between 82 & 86 degrees, but in that location, there is a constant strong breeze. I was also concerned that a tux might look out-of-place in our wedding photos on the beach & by the water...but I was mistaken. Looking back at the photos now, I couldn't imagine him wearing anything other than the tux. And, if I'm 100% honest, I was completely against the idea but went along with what he wanted to wear to his wedding ;) At the Reception, the guys took off their jackets & wore their vests & shirts...and eventually some took off their vests. I'm guessing they were hot, but nobody ever said anything. I just asked my husband if he was happy with his decision to wear a tux, and he said Yes. So, when you say, "too much", I'm not sure if you mean "too formal" or "too hot", but in either case, for "us", we were happy with the decision...

PS: The Groom, Best Man, & Father-of-the Bride wore full tuxes. Our 3 nephews (little boys) wore slacks, vest & tie. Also, if I remember correctly, the tux rental place provided an additional shirt in case the guys needed to change into a fresh shirt.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
