Post Groom and GM attire

Recommended Posts

I, personally think that the norm for a destination wedding is whatever you want it to be! You describe your location as a classy garden, so class up your man! That doesn't have to mean a suit, but at least a tie and maybe a vest, if you like that look? Close your eyes and imagine what your man would wear...then I'd go with that!

I can't decide on a formal suit, a linen suit, a vest and pants, or a shirt with suspenders. I'm not having a beach wedding but I am having a classy garden wedding in the tropics. I don't want guests to look dressier than the groom but I don't know what the norm is....Any help is appreciated.

These look great! We are about to place our orders for the custom linen suit and shirts from Island Importer as well. We are doing the suit/pants in Ivory and the long sleeved Amalf shirts in Coral.  I got some fabric samples from them and I'm impressed with quality.  Make sure to post these on their Facebook page. They give you a refund of 10% if you spent more than $500!

I communicated with Island Importers in regards to a refund, and they are not offering that promotion anymore :(! BUT, they are now offering a $75 credit to items on their site for posting pictures to them. Better than nothing :)! Thanks for the advice!

Well we are not having any luck finding groom and groomsmen attire in the stores with the exception of one pair (the last ones!) of Cubavera linen pants (real light tan color) my fiance found at Macy's that he loves. Now I am thinking we would like a vest to match for my fiance and the same (or very similiar pants) for the groomsmen and long sleeve linen shirts for all the guys. Anyone know of where to look besides Island Importers (they are a little more expensive). We are also looking for light colored sandals (not flip flops) which also seem very hard to find. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give!

They are going to be hard to find this time of year.

Check online. Maybe Sears Outlet online, or another store like that that will keep its inventory posted. They may not have a lot of sizes, but you may be able to find something. Does Le Chateau keep their stuff available online?

Good luck!

If you're located in Toronto, there is a Le Chateau outlet store on Orfus rd (near Yorkdale mall). They have lots of mens suits, vests, pants and shirts. I actually found out about it based on the suggestion of another bride who posted earlier in this thread. She posted her FI outfit and I loved it!!

Also check Old Navy online. Not 100% certain about men's linen but I saw women's linen pants there recently on the site. Also, Gap and Banana Republic are linked to that site once you're there. I order regularly from them. Shipping is free if you spend over $50 and returns can easily be made by mail or just take into the store and return.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
