Post Groom and GM attire

Recommended Posts

So the weirdest thing happened last week. I dragged my FI to Le Chateau last week because I was looking for my wedding shoes...he found these fuchsia dress shirts on sale and said "what if the guys wear these shirts, with a white tie and grey suits??" I was flabbergasted because this is the first time he's showed any interest what the 'guys' will be wearing. It looks pretty sharp. The guys will be wearing the shirt ties and dark grey pants and the FI will wear the matching vest. ALT=""http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/content/type/61/id/163559/width/350/height/700[/img]

@Philanab...I LOVE THIS LOOK!! Very chic! This is my colour too, I'm going to check Le Chateau and see if they still have these shirts for groomsmen. In the photo this suit looks navy, which would also be a good option.

My wedding colours are fuchsia and grey. Thanks for the post!

I'm stuck with the men's attire. We are going to have my FI in a light(er) gray vest and pants, white shirt, and then eggplant tie (our color). I'm torn as to what we should have his BM wear. I was leaning towards putting him in the pants, and perhaps ditch the vest. Maybe put him in a slightliy darker color dresshirt (closer to eggplant?) to make him stand out a bit? These men's outfits are trickier than my dress!

Do you have other GM too, or just the BM?

Are they going to be wearing bouts? You could always give the best man a bout slightly different from the other groomsmen; I do not know how much you want them to stand out from the others.

Otherwise, I think the slightly darker shirt would work out just fine!

Just the BM, and I just have a MOH. The bout situation was going to depend on the vest situation. If I could get either of them to plan ahead, we could all go tMacy's at the same time and just see hwo it looks! Boys....

These look great! We are about to place our orders for the custom linen suit and shirts from Island Importer as well. We are doing the suit/pants in Ivory and the long sleeved Amalf shirts in Coral.  I got some fabric samples from them and I'm impressed with quality.  Make sure to post these on their Facebook page. They give you a refund of 10% if you spent more than $500!

Oh wow!! Thank you for that tidbit of information. I just emailed them. We spent close to $1200 with them for everyone's clothes, that would be a nice refund right about now :)! GOOD LUCK WITH YOURS. My boys really liked the quality of their items!

Is there a certain rule that GM and the groom should follow for a destination wedding? Obviously most brides wear a white dress but what's the rule with men? I can't decide on a formal suit, a linen suit, a vest and pants, or a shirt with suspenders. I'm not having a beach wedding but I am having a classy garden wedding in the tropics. I don't want guests to look dressier than the groom but I don't know what the norm is....Any help is appreciated.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
