Post Groom and GM attire

Recommended Posts

We are doing gray suits! Just picked them out yesterday at Moores. Got a great deal! As I mentioned before, if you bring in something to donate, you get a 50% off coupon. SO, here is a breakdown of what things cost:

Suit 100 thread count. Nice and lightweight for the beach. Geoffrey Bean. Reg $449.

White shirt. Can't remember the make. Reg $80

Tie. Sean Jean. Reg $50.

Pocketsquare. Reg $20. We are thinking about just doing a tie for my FI and pocket squares, no tie for the GMs

Taxes in, just over $300! We got 5 suits for just over $1500, that's over $1500 in savings!

Hi Kathie,

Just curious - I'm debating the pocket square + bout look. What are you doing for bouts?

My FI is wearing a grey (the actual colour is called taupe but looks grey) linen blend suit from Le Chateau. It looks so nice with my magenta bridesmaid dresses. He's also wearing a purple/magenta paisley tie and white shirt. It looks soooo nice! When we bought it, it was on sale plus we got extra $50 off for spending at least $100.

Here's the bridesmaid dresses, also from Le Chateau.

I think grey is a very nice alternative to the usual tan suit.

  • 2 weeks later...

I think you hit the nail on the head for 1920's Harlem! The guys look really great. I love the turquoise ties! All sorts of blue are my favorite color/s, but I especially love turquoise (and light blue).

I'll post my DH/groomsmen picture right after this post.

  • My DH's outfit: Jacket by Jones New York at Men's Warehouse. Pants from Burlington Coat Factory. Shoes by Armani. His outfit totaled $165 (shoes not included as they were a gift from me). The hat he borrowed from his best man. His jacket was actually a light plaid as it had tan and blue lines to play into our wedding colors: turquoise and blue (see below).
  • Grooms Men's outfits: Kohl's (pants by Ralph Lauren's Polo collection), JC Penny's (ties), and Burlington Coat Factory (suspenders, ties [Donald Trump Collection] and shirts). Their caps are by Kangol and we got it from a store in Newark that my DH talked the owner down to $15/each (they're worth $40+). Their entire outfits were $60/each. Their shoes were a gift from my MIL.

Flip Flops: Old Navy

Groomsmen

Shirt: Express

Pants: Dockers from Macy's

Belt: Perry Ellis from Macy's

Flip Flops: Old Navy (same as my husband's)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
