Post Groom and GM attire

Recommended Posts

Old Navy has lots on sale right now, flip flops etc but I went looking for linen pants and they have them on for under $20 (in Canada, I am sure US is even cheaper!) Free shipping over $50 and you can return in store!!!!!!

I think we are going to order our groomsmens pants - anyone have any experience with the old navy flat front linen pants?

This might be a weird question but I really love the pants that the guy is wearing with the beer in his pocket but I can't tell what the brand is. Do you know what the brand is?

A few key points***

1.  Love the HAT as the additional accessory!   Keeps the harsh sun out of the eyes and makes for fun photos... guys love to RELAX, roll up pants, take shoes OFF and enjoy a cerveza!

2.  Guys like pockets too, always in need of a handy place to store a cold one.

3.  For most recent "What guys wear" be sure to just check out the blog where we put lots of recent updates :)

How hard is it to IRON?  Can they even do it?   Remember this while packing and or choosing cloths.

I love the VEST addition for the groom, UN-TUCKED works so well too for the groomsmen as a transition away from the slightly more formal groom look here, hats a BONUS.

Flowers, they are ALWAYS given to men and somehow, they end up by themselves (or helping each others) attaching their flower.   Our recommendation is to only have a flower if it will go on a jacket lapel, otherwise the boutineer won't hold its form so well on the bare shirt try...

Here is another thing to remember, Jackets look SO nice, but they guys SWEAT wearing them.... This is a candid shot as the bride arrives at the isle, but you can see one of his guys is taking batch and using a towel to wipe his sweat.  Basically its always hot here, 75+ usually, sometimes being in the shade is nicer and sometimes next to the ocean breeze is amazing.... guys always take jackets off at the reception.   A nice embroidered hanky  towel gift for them might be a cool idea :)

Big contrast here, guys wearing light and un-tucked and groom in Navy darker colors...

King of kings, ok...  I like these accessories and the RED tie rocks on the off white suit.    With the Crown and Robe, ummm...  BIG PERSONALITY.

This one is nice for a color contrast... darker tie, white shirt.   Great look after peeling off the jacket....

remember the rolled up look for the pants if your going to take a stroll, get splashed by a wave, wife, whatever :)

a few more coming soon :)

I had to laugh at your comment about hockey player legs...at my BFFs wedding, the boys all played hockey and were in slim fit European style suits from Le Chateau.  A few minutes before the wedding started, the groom was scrambling for safety pins as the zipper on his pants broke...and during the dance, one of the groomsman's pants pretty much split open from stem to stern, if you know what I mean! ; )

Worth checking out though Leigh!!!  I just think we can find cheaper pants....

It's a SERIOUS issue lol and all the GM are hockey players too so it simply will NOT work!!!! The le chateau ones are just too small!!!! I opted for Old Navy linen pants as they were on sale for like $15.  I haven't received them yet but we will see how they fit once they arrive!!!!  I was nervous to order anything expensive online because if we can't return it and it doesnt fit were stuck... its hard to request "extra thigh" space lol

Hi everyone! I'm having a hard time figuring out what to put the guys in! My fiancee doesn't want to be too formal and hot in a suit...  I'm thinking at least a tie for the ceremony but we'll see!

The biggest issue I"m having is a color problem. We were considering all the guys in white button down shirts but I'd like my fiance to stand out a bit. The girls are wearing bright turquoise dresses. I can't figure out what would look better, my fiance in a blue shirt and groomsmen in white shirts or the opposite. I'm worried if the blue on the groomsmen isn't a good match to the dresses the whole thing will look weird. Suggestions?

Hey RyGuysBride!

I'm not sure if you saw in Matt Adcock's post above, but for my wedding, my husband wore a pinstripe "Stay Cool" line suit from JOS A. Bank. I understand you fiance doesn't want to wear a suit and I wanted Eric (my husband) to stand out from the rest of his groomsmen, so I have a suggestion. Your fiance could wear pants that are different than the groomsmen (even if he doesn't want to wear the jacket). We did put everyone in the same ties, but it was something that tied everyone's looks together since my husband's overall look was a completely different all the way down to his shoes. My girls were also in turquoise dresses and here are a few pics to give you an overall view! Good luck and let me know if you have any questions on the details!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
