Post Groom and GM attire

Recommended Posts

Ok so to update we figured out what FI will be wearing. We went to Winnipeg this weekend and he took me to about 5 different stores to show me pants that he found. Well he hadn't tried ANY of them on...finally tired them on and didn't like ANY of them. Then I showed him a pair of shorts I had found, very nice shorts with a subtle pin stripe in them. He fell in love. So we are going with shorts and loosing the ties.

Here's a picture of Kyle..

Hi, guys! I see that a lot of you have gone with linen suits or pants for the boys. Can anyone tell me how these hold up? My fi and I just started shopping for what he's going to wear and one of the salesmen we spoke to told us to avoid linen because it will wrinkle terribly. That's what I had originally envisioned him wearing but I definitely don't want him to look disheveled in the pictures so I'm a little nervous about going with linen now :-/

Is/Did anyone have a groom wear shorts? Amazingly I am the one who thinks he should consider it. Nice shorts with a white shirt just sounds more comfortable for him, and we are going to be quite casual. I am wearing a nice dress, but it is a destination style and not too dressy. He doesn't have any groomsman.

Just wondering if anyone else did the shorts thing for the groom and how did they feel about it? We are getting married in Aruba and I also need to look into whether the officiants would have a problem shorts on the beach.

Thanks ladies!

I'm trying to convince my FI to wear a nice pair of tan short and a white linen shirt, but he's not really into it. For some reason he wants to wear pantshuh.gif We're getting married in Mexico and i just think he will be more comfortable. We're having a pretty casual wedding, my dress is not really a destination dress, but everyone else will be casual. I'm definitely not letting him wear a suit! He will melt!!

My whole wedding party (males) wore shorts. We wanted casual and cool but we were only able to do this because we were dining in the buffet. Most a la carte restaurants want men in pants. The way to get around this is to change in between, but I would think that would waste valuable time.

As for linen, I have never been a fan...it wrinkles way to easily and then it doesn't look very good.

We went with the linen suit. It did have wrinkles - but we just took it to the dry cleaners and it cost $16 to get it steamed. It took like 3 minutes. (this was in Maui) And he ended up loving it on the wedding day - he said it wasn't really hot at all (and he's ALWAYS hot). But if you don't want to steam the suit, don't go with linen - it does wrinkle easily

http://www.perfectsuits.co.uk/viart/product_details.php?item_id=451 I have ordered  a white suit from this site. We did want a cream one but they are end of line stock and they do not have my FI's size. I will let you know how it looks when it arrives. Its hard work trying to find a UK site with light coloured suits. Could not order from an overseas site because we only have 3 weeks left to go and it wouldnt be delivered in time...yes my fiance has left it too late, typical man lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
