Is/Did anyone have a groom wear shorts? Amazingly I am the one who thinks he should consider it. Nice shorts with a white shirt just sounds more comfortable for him, and we are going to be quite casual. I am wearing a nice dress, but it is a destination style and not too dressy. He doesn't have any groomsman.

Just wondering if anyone else did the shorts thing for the groom and how did they feel about it? We are getting married in Aruba and I also need to look into whether the officiants would have a problem shorts on the beach.

Thanks ladies!
You shouldn't have any issue with wearing shorts at the ceremony in Aruba. I've seen some pics with the groom and his guys in shorts at weddings in aruba.

I was just coming on here to ask the same question. My FI and all his groomsmen are hockey and football guys, really broad, and I'm afraid of pants looking 'tappered' on them. ALSO I'm afraid of the heat, I don't want to walk down the aisle and see the men in my bridal party melting hahaha.

I had the idea of a nice beige short, long sleeve linen shirts and then ties, and possibly have the guys roll their sleeves 1/4 way up.

My FI says no..he think's that would look silly. He would rather wear beige pants, white shirt and a tie and then roll the pants up 1/4 of the way.

I need some opinions here! I think shorts would be nice...for them, I'm just all about comfort!

Hopeless, I'm not a huge fan of the man-pri look for the wedding. I prefer when you either go shorts or you go pants. Linen pants are great for beach weddings because they are so light. But a tailored khaki short would be really nice too. But in all honesty, the boys caused the most ruckus over their outfits and by the end I was so over listening to them. Do what makes your FI and you happy!

Cheers to your FI on picking out a great suit! It will look awesome in your pics :)

He bought the suit at Sid Silvers in Toronto. They were going out of business and he got it for cheap. The shirt came form Steinmart in the states. I'm not sure if Sid Silvers is still around...you guys should check it out!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
