Few more St. Thomas questions...

Has anyone been able to find any decent maps of St. Thomas for driving? The all holy Google maps doesn't find addresses and I'm getting frustrated with that. sad.gif

Also, I can't find much about actual bars/clubs on St. Thomas...My bridesmaids are having a true bachelorette party for me here in Nashville, but I want to go out with them the night before and I'm sure the boys will want to do the same, but I'd like to have them elsewhere...Any suggestions? I'm not totally opposed to going to St. Johns, but I know nothing about it...

Crystal, where will you be staying on the island?

Here is my favorite St. Thomas map: St. Thomas Map - St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands This is the map that is handed out by the car rental companies when you pick up your car. The major roads are color coded on the map. There are "Tommy Starfish" signs colored to match the code. (e.g., green Tommy Starfish route goes from downtown Charlotte Amalie to Magens Bay.)

I would recommend Red Hook for your Wedding Eve party. There are plenty of places there for partying. For a wild evening, I think Duffy's Love Shack would fit the bill. There's also Caribbean Saloon, Molly Malone's, XO, and some others. Plenty of places within walking distance if you want to separate the men and women. I heartily recommend, however, that, you rent a taxi for the evening. The roads are too narrow, twisty and hilly for folks who've been out drinking to experience on the night before the wedding (or any night), especially since they drive on the other side of the street.

Thank you!

I'm not sure where we're staying yet. I have it narrowed down to 3 places; Mafolie, Bolongo Bay, and Secret Harbour. I'm waiting for info from them to decide.

Apparently that map works well with all the locations I have activities planned at - Coral World, Magen's Bay (wedding) , Mafolie (dinner after wedding), Mahogany Run (boys are going golfing). ::Relieved::

:-D

Everyone said Duffys Love shack was great... we went last June and stayed at the Marriot and at Secret Harbour... we LOVED Secret Harbour... Condo layout, nice beach with the bar and Blue Moon Cafe Restaurant which had the BEST food ever (and we are food whores)... we saw weddings going on there too, and they were nice!! All of the locals say for night life go to Red Hook, and they also suggested Duffys....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
