I had found a fantastic pet sitting service - the woman who does it is neighbors with my vet, who I love. She sat for mine and my friends kitties when we travelled last year - I'm hoping she'll come to where I live now - it was only $10 a day so I'd be willing to pay double for her to travel - I live about 20 minutes further. My parents and inlaws will be back way before we will so they can take over when they get home.

We were able to have one of our single friends that lived at home with our parents stay at our house (we paid her of course). I think she was happy to have a house to herself for the week and we were thrilled our dogs could stay at their house. I think it really helped with their seperation anxiety (my one dog has severe anxiety). Do you have anyone that could stay at your house like a younger relative or friend?

My situation right now is that we just got a puppy so we are thinking of where we are going to leave him. Everyone close to us is going to the wedding. We have thought about our neighbors but she is prego! So now we dont know where to leave our "Chico".

thats tough Jess. We did look into the petsmart hotels which looked alright but you had to pay for them to be in the doggy daycare during the day (or else they stay in rooms/cage) and for 2 dogs that was going to be a lot of $$$ for us. but maybe for 1 it wouldnt be too bad. Start asking around to people near you with pets to see if they use anyone. You might find someone. there's also at least 1 thread on here for this toopic you might want to search through to see if anyone mentions anyone from your area. i actually told my parents about one someone posted that was in my area.

See if any of the technicians at your veterinary clinic offer their services. We hired one from our clinic and she was fabulous! She stayed at the house and gave our pugs lots of love! I know she does this frequently as a way to make extra money.

My dog will go with my parents dog to a boarding place then when they get home they'll pick both up and keep them until we get back.

The cats...well, they'll be fine. They're spoiled rotten and a week or so of alone time will do them good. We went on a 3 week trip last summer and looked into boarding them but it was going to cost almost $1000.00 at our vet (the only place I would trust). I ended up having the neighbor come over and it worked out really well. They were happy to see us but much less stressed than they would have been if they were at the kitty hotel. And we had extra money for our trip!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
