Recommended Posts

Hi Brides!!

I am getting married on June 11, 2009 at ROR. I will be there from June-14 and than Couples Swept Away June 14-21. I have so much left to do and I can't find all the favors and ott bag contents that I want! We are on a budget and I have been searching all the threads to find ideas and great deals and I have found some but not enough to complete my welcome bags. I have 70 guests!! Also, I don't know what to get for my my maid of honor and 6 bridesmaids! I only have a few weeks to go and I am driving myself and my fiance and both mothers crazy!! Help!!! Any ideas or suggestions about your favors or ott bags please tell!!

I wish now that I had ordered cups for my favors, but most places have a minimum of 50 and I will only need 25.

Im in the process of getting ours together now and so far I have some gum and hand sanitizer, lol! I plan to add some sunscreen, a welcome letter, and something local ( cookies, candy, etc.)

I would love some help as well!

i am doing sunscreen (target for $1), playing cards (if you have a BJ's or costco or sams club you can get packs for pretty cheap), candles, magnets (from vistaprint), welcome letter, photo share card, wedding day timeline. also if you want to save space and money, wait until you get to jamaica and right by the airport is a shopping center where you can get local items for excellent prices (so i hear). i plan on stopping there to see.

I am just starting to put mine together. Here are the things I have so far that I know will come in handy.

individual wrapped wet ones wipes

individual packets of tylenol pm

small bars of soap

small hand lotions

chapsticks

breath mints

depending on how many rooms I have booked, maybe a People or Star magazine, or TV Guide.

For the favor bags so far I have (each) yankee candle coconut votive, seashell themed bookmarks, beach magnet frame and something else yet to be determined... that I will give to each of the guests who actually come to Jamaica, after our ceremony.

I plan to get some small blue mountain coffee bags and mini bottles of jamaican rum when i get to Jamaica to put in my welcome bags. Several other brides have said there is a grocery store not too far from ROR where all of these items can be purchased for a reasonable price. I may also get some local snack foods as well, depending on the cost and how many people end up coming.

I have 7 girls in my bridal party as well. Check out Smarty Pants Custom Embroidery Boutique which I know alot of girls use on here. I will probably do that and a clutch or some sort of jewellry.. i have 7 mths still so havent really thought that far!

As for OOT bags.. we are going to have 70-80 guests as well (our weddings are quite similar!) and we are doing nice bags with a change purse, pens, suduku/puzzle books, anti bacterial hand soap, spf lip balm, travel mugs, advil and some snacks. Maybe some mini footballs or frisbees. good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
