Hello Future BP brides!  I was married there in July 23, 2011.  It was amazing!  The wedding coordinator Rebecca was great!  I hired my own photographer, but because I had the Amber package the resort photography was included.  After see the resort photos...SO GLAD I hired my own.

We had about 50 guest.  Were comp'd 2 room nights, had a free reception after the wedding, and I paid for a cocktail party the night before.  MX is so humid that I did not need to steam my dress.  I hung it up in the room and let nature take over.

We were married and had the reception on the sky terrace.  We used the resort UV company and created our own playlist for the events.

We brought welcome bags for our guest, and the resort delivered them to the guest room for $3.00/ bag.  We were treated so well! I recommend to everyone!  The Sky Terrace was beautiful!  The beach is beautiful!!!

Ok, I know this is a little late considering the thread is a few years old. However I figured I would put my input here for future brides. We just got back from having our wedding at Beach Palace Cancun (Dec wedding). I have to say that it was AMAZING! The resort is beautiful. The pictures don’t do it justice at all. The service there is incredible and every single person in my wedding group had a great time. The resort is a little smaller than Moon Palace but I much prefer BP. The location is way better. You have easy access to downtown, the mall and pretty much the rest of the strip. Moon Palace is very isolated so your guest are pretty much stuck on the resort unless they want to pay the hefty 40$ each way cab ride to and from the strip. We found the bus doesn’t take you to the moon palace resort so the cab is your only option unless you take the free shuttle which is twice a day in the morning..... that sucks because it restricts timing….

As far as the wedding goes, our coordinator was Marco. He was AMAZING..... I highly recommend asking for him as your coordinator.....he went above and beyond and made everything perfect. We had some issues with our offsite coordinator... although she was really nice,,, she was a little unorganized (maybe overworked,, i dont know) Her response time was really long (about a couple weeks) and she had a lot of our orders incorrect and there were so many mistakes with the details... i dont like to leave bad reviews so im not going to drop her name but i think she must have been over swamped or something…. because i really had to micromanage her work...... But Marco jumped through so many hoops and tried to fix them even though it was last minute.. he took care of everything and made sure I didnt really need to do work... hes organized,,, efficient.. and has great taste!!! He really works with you to make your vision come true... . I definitely recommend you confirming with your onsite coordinator all the details of the wedding before showing up..i wish i had just worked with marco from the beginning ... it would have saved me a lot of trouble.... **recommendation to the resort: they should keep the same coordinator for planning and executing the event

The service staff was unbelievably great. They were so polite and kind... they kept the drinks filled, tables clean, they were constantly running back and forth giving into every need of our guests. Everyone was ranting about how great the service was.

We ordered some stuff from the decoration vendor (Zuniga) They're really helpful in the planning process. The items we ordered worked great, they did set up late though and that sort of threw off our time (sister had to complete the deco with stuff we brought from home and she only had 20mins to do it even though we had planned for 1.5hrs)

Photography was phenomenal.... VERY professional and although its pricey.... you get amazing pictures... our photographer was Paco Aguilar.... with Dream Art Photography…..great photographer.. he made it seem so effortless... the beach was CROWDED and in the photos it appears as if we are alone.... Great job... highly recommend them!

As I posted above,,, here’s the video of our photos if you’re interested: http://youtu.be/tBO6...a3ca7mT2pkYzbOw

Food- The food is amazing!! We had a couple events before the actual wedding day so we tried out some of the other menu options. The head Chef who orchestrated our menu is Chef William (don’t know the last name) He is very professional and nice… Great personality and a wonderful chef. The first night we had the Mexican Buffet… I highly recommend it!!! It was DELICIOUS! I wish I had ordered this for the other nights as well.. The Chicken Mole was mouth watering!  This menu isn’t your typical (Americanized Mexican Cuisine) it will take yours and your guests taste buds for a ride! The second event we had Italian… this was great too,,, just not my favorite.. everyone else really enjoyed it…… the wedding night we had the French menu… everything was delicious… my guests raved about the food… for the cocktail hours… we had the superior deluxe menu, the Mexican cocktails…. it was beautiful…. Everything was amazing… thank you to the kitchen staff for all their hard work..….. we truly enjoyed the food.

DJ- Our DJ was really great… they were very accommodating with our music type/preference.. I brought an ipod to play Persian/Arabic/Turkish music…the DJ did a GREAT job encorporating the music into more modern pop/dance music of his own… we danced NON stop…. So much fun!!!! My only complaint is that at the end of the night… he cut the last song halfway inbetween…. And just shut everything off….. lights… music… all the above… it was a little abrupt and without warning…. Not the best way to end the night…. Another thing is his accent was very strong and it was hard to understand him on the microphone at times… but as a dj bigggg PLUS!!! Thanks J

Spa- Okay… so I made the mistake of not doing research of the Spa services before going there…. So everything I did was last minute… their spa is really nice…. The ladies who work are really sweet… massages are a little weak for my taste… but nice… the nail salon is decent…. I highly recommend getting your hair and makeup done at the salon…If you use your resort credits you just pay the tax so it only comes out to like $15.. which is crazy worth it!!! I had Minerva (I think I am butchering her name) She is REALLLLY good. Shes had 30+ years of experience in bridal hair… I just showed her a picture and she turned my crazy curly hair into a beautiful side-do…. There was so much wind and dancing and humidity… my hair didn’t move the WHOLE time… the next morning… it still looked like that!!! Haha… I did my own makeup because I didn’t make an appointment on time… You have to be physically there to book so make sure you do that the FIRST day you arrive.

          TIPS:

Whatever planning you do,,,, from booking… to prices…. To details of food.. color . times..etc… do it in EMAIL! There were so many mistakes… I was grateful I did everything in email… have your smartphone with you because you will have to pull it out to show proof in the email…. This is very important… brides to be…. Don’t be lazy in this aspect!!

Tours/Events/Spa- I wish we had more info before coming… so I could have better coordinated with my guest of the services they offer at the resort…. Call the resort and see if they can email you info before you go… it would have been really helpful in our case… we did the Chichen Itza Tour… it was amazing to see the ruins but the tour was a waste of time.. It’s a 3hour drive because they stop at small bazaar to sell you things.. the tour guide was great but he talked a lot and wasted a lot of our time with fluff… we had only a little amount of time to explore on our own… pretty much a 1hr drive took 3hrs…. you get the point? Probably better to get a car and go on your own? We also did the Isla Mujeres tour… it was cool… boat ride to the island VERY rocky… warning if you get sea sick.. I think they rocked the boat on purpose?!… not a fan of the dolphin area bc I don’t like captive dolphins…but if you want to swim with the dolphins sign up at the resort.. you can use your resort credits.. the food there was horrible… very dirty.. the guy dropped the spatula…. Spit on it and wiped it on his pants L we took a cab ride to the palace resort on the island… you can eat and drink for free there…so we hung out … chilled on the beach.. its pretty low key… kinda boring… but relaxing…. The crowd there were mainly older

I can go on and on..but the point is if I could go back and do it again.. I would!!! Over and over again!! I highly recommend destination weddings… you get a full vacation with your family and friends and it’s a wedding no one will forget!!! Best of luck and Congratulations!!!!!!!!!

We arrived in Mexico on Monday around noon. We had an appointment with our wedding planner at 3:00pm. During the appointment, we had our blood taken, selected a photo package, selected flowers/cake and completed the necessary forms that pertain to the marriage. At this meeting, you will need to provide your passports and tourist cards for the bride and groom and two witnesses. We were not made aware of this ahead of time, so we had to meet with the wedding planner the following day.

Our package included the bride’s bouquet, grooms flower and two centerpiece arrangements. The flower selection available for the “included†flowers was a short list. We selected tropical flower assortments for our centerpieces and ivory roses for my bouquet. The flowers were beautiful! We decided to purchase additional flowers. Just a heads up… they charge a fortune for extra flowers! We paid $40 for each boutonni¨re and $120 for the maid of honor bouquet. We bought two corsages for the mothers and those were $40 a piece. They offered rose petals for the guests to throw at the bride and groom at the end of the ceremony for $30. We decided to pass on that. I would suggest bringing silk flower petals or bubbles. I brought my own chair bows. Bring extra because they will set up more chairs than needed! The chair bows added a punch of color to the white chairs. They provided the wedding structure with white silk flowers too.

The wedding was planned for Thursday at 6pm. We scheduled our spa services prior to our arrival in Cancun. The spa staff was awesome! They have a private room for the bride to be pampered in. My appointments started at 1:30pm. I had a mani/pedi and hair/makeup done. My French mani/pedi turned out awesome! I have mid length hair and decided to have it pulled back into a low updo. I picked a photo from one of their books and the woman did it for me. My makeup turned out good, but I did not like the eye shadow color or application. It was different than I normally wear my makeup, but I trusted their judgment for the photos. The other women were in another part of the spa from me and I felt a little lonely in the room by myself. I think that we left the spa around 4:00pm.

They offered us a hospitality room in the hotel for us to get dressed in. The wedding cord brought the flowers to the room once they arrived. We decided to use the photographer from the resort. We had 36 photos included in our package and decided to upgrade that to the 75 photos with the album. It cost about $225 to upgrade to that package. The photographer met me in our hospitality hotel room around 5:30. I thought that he was cheesy! Our package also included a DVD, so he had the videographer with him. They shot a lot of photos in the room! If you have a choice, please ask them if you can take photos in another part of the resort. Looking at my photos, I don’t really like the shots in the hotel room! Another suggestion, please ask him to take a close up portrait photo of the bride and groom. We did not get a great photo of both of us looking at the camera with a close up. Just before 6p, the wedding cord walked my father and I up to the sky terrace for the ceremony to begin.

We selected to have a violin and cello play for the ceremony. I would do that again! They did a great job. Their music is also on our DVD. The minister did a great job too. We decided to have a sand ceremony. My sister read the sand ceremony for us.
The photographer took great photos during the ceremony! After the ceremony, he took a few shots of the entire group. We had 10 guests, and I wish he would have taken a few more photos of the guests! We got a great photo with the 12 of us. I asked if he would take some additional photos, but he claimed that we did not have the time and we still had to shoot the bride and groom photos.

Beach Palace has NO beach. The water literally crashes up against the hotel. He walked us down by the pool and got some awesome shots of the two of us. After that, the photographer and videoagrapher left.

Beach Palace has a rule that outside events have to be finished by 10pm. With the 6p wedding, we decided to have dinner at the Tequila Restaurant. The service was very slow! If I could change things, I would have skipped the dinner and had the group go to the bar for a few cocktails. Because our guest count was under 25, we were not able to have the dinner reception. We ended up going with the cocktail reception which includes appetizers. They are very generous with the appetizers and my guests hardly touched them. Our cocktail reception went from 8-10.

We decided to go with the DJ for the two hours during our reception. If I could do it again, I would not have!!! I would have gone with the ipod selection. The DJ did not say one word the entire two hours. We gave him our first dance songs and he played them continuously with no words or space in between. We literally were running around trying to get the right people on the dance floor. The DJ provided a microphone, so we decided to have our toasts done during the reception.

They had PLENTY of servers at the cocktail reception ready to provide drinks. I think that they were bored because ¼ of my guests don’t drink. Our reception was on the sky terrace, so it was a beautiful night to see the city from the 12th floor of the hotel.

Beach Palace Resort was top notch! The view from the sky wedding terrace was breathtaking!!! The terrace has a 360 degree view of Cancun. The photos that were sent to me did not do this location justice. I believe that Beach Palace only offers one wedding per day. Beach Palace is located in the middle of the hotel zone. If you are looking to get married in Cancun and looking for an alternative to that “Beach†wedding, check this place out! I can’t say enough great things about the place.

          Congrats!!

I love reading good reviews on Beach Palace.. it makes me so happy with mine and my FI's choice to have our wedding here. I also love that they offer only one wedding per day.

@lauraandmatt Beautiful photos!! You are a stunning bride :)

My FI and I are getting married at BP this coming December and I get more and more excited everytime I see photos. Question.. what type of lighting did you go with for your reception on the roof top terrace?
I'm currently deciding on that and I like to hear the choices that other brides went with.
