Freaking out - little red itchy, burning "bites"?! HELP!

Recommended Posts

ok ladies - welllll, after applying (in this order) witch hazel, aloe straight from our plant, aloe with vitamin e lotion, Benedryl (taken orally), hydrocortizone cream, then finally lidocaine spray on pain reliever... it still f'ing hurt -

it was hilarious - i'd taken 2 benedryls, then all that other stuff but I couldn't do anything but stand up or sit up (my back was the WORST but tummy was covered too). So I was exhausted but I could not go to sleep! DOH! Finally I threw in another mixture to the cocktail (why not at this point? rofl.gif) - I took some Rx hydrocodone and FINALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY was able to sleep around 8pm!!!

I also had a slight fever of 99.4 during all of this. Today it's down to 99.1. Martin's Mom thinks I have a slight 1st degree burn on top of the heat rash which is what made the little "boils" on my right shoulder blade - seriously, I have always had such fair skin so I've had my fair share of burns but last night was on a whole different level. It kept feeling like someone was poking me with a needle! OUCH!!!!! I was literally laying there on Martin before I fell asleep just going "ow...ow...OW....ow....ow..." all the while shivering and totally whimpering. lol, I'm sure I was being very pathetic cheesy.gif

MUUUCHHHH BETTER TODAY!!! You can still see the bumps but they really do not hurt or itch.

So, I'm about to head back out to the tanning bed and try this again...

Not!! cheesy.gif

My mouth dropped when you said you were going to the tanning beds again!!!! Good one! I am glad to hear your feeling better. I have very fair skin too and I totally understand wanting to get a base before you go somewhere like Mexico. I have also tried the tanning beds and I was just not impressed. I just don't think they are for fair skinned ladies like ourselves! Your going to be a beautiful bride....just make sure you wear lots of high SPF when your down there. Keep us updated when they go away!

I would not go back to the tanning salon either. If it is really bothering you try a bath in an oatmeal solution for the itching, or soaking in a bath with espom salt. That will sooth, and also camomile lotion is very soothing too. Good luck. Don't go back online for this, you will make yourself crazy! Sometimes too much information is not good either! Stop worrying you will be beautiful on your wedding day, everythng will be perfect.

hi jaime!

I'm sooo sorry ur having to deal with this.

I'm sure you will be just fine before wedding day but I do have a thought...

How bout going to see a dermatologist?

You never know. Maybe they can give you a shot or prescription topical medication thats going to just zap this thing immediately.

In any case, hope you get to feeling better soon sweetie!

Hang in there!!!

I have had a reaction similar to yours, just mine was on the backs of my legs & it went away overnight. My sister, however, had some itchy bumps that she got on her arms that she thought might have been sun poisoning (I didn't know that was possible in a bed.) I think mine was some sort of a reaction to the cleaner they use. I don't know why sometimes it happens & sometimes it doesn't (maybe it's all in how well they wipe it off.) Anyhow, I'm glad it's getting better!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
