Hi to all --We're looking for a good meeting place the first night we arrive to have a meet & greet time with those guests we haven't met (the grooms family is coming from Nova Scotia ) The Riu.com website says two of the bars are called "The Coconut Bar" and the "Sports Bar" Where are they located & what do you think ? Wish someone had a detailed map of the resort...the website sure doesn't !! Any other suggestions? Maybe just the lobby to start with & move on to a restaurant from there ?
SIX weeks to go til my daughters weddding....can't wait !

The Sports Bar is upstairs and I think too small. I'm not sure if The Coconut Bar is the bar in the plaza with the plaza gazebo. If so, that will be a good spot. Its more room and when we were there not too many people were there. You will also be able to hear the nightly show from here. It normally starts about 9pm.

I agree the cocont bar is a nice spot. THat is right next to the plaza gazebo and has tons of seating, etc, Good luck Kay--wow the time has flown!

That's what I suggested too I think...and I'm pretty sure it's the one that's by the plaza gazebo. there's also another bar very close to there . The evening show starts at 9:00 but there's stuff going on there from 7:30 on...it's over for sure by 10 - 10:30 ish.

When is your daughter's wedding? It sounds like we will be at the resort at the same time. My wedding is on July 3rd and we will be there from june 30th-july 9th.

Do you have to reserve the Plaza gazebo bar to have an informal gathering of the guests? Or is it more first come first served?

No, I don't think you can reserve it. Of if you can I'm sure it would cost a pretty penny. Unless you have a massive amount of people going there will be plenty of space. We met up there every evening and always had chairs and lots of room for all of us. We were a group of 25 people
