welcome4.gif to the forum! Try resorts in Playa del Carmen, they are close to 5th Avenue which has the shopping and night life and it has beautiful beaches! You could look at resorts such as the Gran Porto Real. Good Luck with your planning!

Thanks guys! I've been to the Mayan and absolutely loved it. The only thing I didn't like about it is that it's too far of a drive from the airport. I'd like to be somewhere 30 minutes away tops, so I think I'll be looking at either Cancun or PV. I was checking out Dreams Cancun and it seems to be a little over my families budget (the best air/hotel deal I can find is $1700 for one week). I'd like to find something in the $1000 range. The search continues!

I appreciate all your advice!

Prior to our trip being cancelled due to the swine flu, we were staying at the Great Parnassus, which looked fantastic for kids b/c of the pirate ship & for party lovers b/c of all the bar choices. You also have all the nighlife on the strip just a few minutes away. We choose this resort b/c of it's great prices & we had the wedding planned at the Casa Magna Marriott. I don't know if you would be interested in staying at one place & getting married at another, but I know some other girls on here have done this as well. I think JennyK stayed at the Great Parnassus & married at JW Marriott (which is right next door to the Casa Magna.) Just a thought!!! If you need more info, I can try to help, as I researched things in Cancun for months (only for our trip to be cancelled) sad.gif

Hi there! I am also new to this board but have been planning 'n researching for a while. You may want to look into the Palace Resorts in Mexico. I know a girl who stayed at Cancun Palace which is kid and $ friendly and in the center of the fun in Cancun but then got married at Moon Palace. If you stay at one of the Palace resorts you can eat, swim and play (and get married!) at the other resorts. Congrats and happy planning!

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know I've decided on Dreams PV!!! I just love the mountains in the background, the sunset every night, and the proximity to PV if people want to go into town (it's also kid-friendly). I just hope I can find a good TA now so my guests can get the best deal!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
