Small dinner reception

Hello! My fiance and I are starting to plan our wedding and reception. We're not going to have a traditional reception since we're anticipating a small crowd. We're thinking of having a dinner after the ceremony at either the Plantation House or the Sea House. I've looked at both menus online and they look great. Has anyone been to either? My parents own property in Maui and have been to the Sea House many times and love it, but I'm looking for other opinions! Thanks so much for all of the great info and advice.

Do you mean Seawatch? That is where we had our reception and the food was excellent! Can't recommend it enough :)

You could always do a luau reception dinner instead if you wanted.. Old Lahaina Luau and Feast at Lele in Lahaina were really good too

I think pretty much every restaurant in Maui will accommodate a wedding party! LOL When I was doing the research, they all seemed to have event planning available.

Filby, we are having our reception dinner at Five Palms Also! Make sure you review them in a "Wedding Review" right when you get back! wink.gif

We were originally going to go to Sarento's, but the wedding party is getting bigger, and bigger, and I don't think their patio is going to be big enough.

Here are a couple websites I used for research:

I think we've decided on the Plantation House. We looked at the Five Palms but it was pretty far from where we're staying (30 min +) and thought transportation might be an issue for some of our guests. We're hoping to provide transportation for everyone and that can get pretty expensive!

We're having a morning ceremony, brunch reception and then we're treating our guests to Old Lahaina Luau that evening. It's going to be a jam packed day but hopefully a great one.

Thanks for the great advice!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
