general Cabo questions from a newbie!!!!!! HELP!

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies!

Well, we've gone from deciding on maybe Jamaica, to maybe Punta Cana or Cozumel, to probably Puerto Vallarta....but still no final decisions, so what about Cabo? Can anyone tell me what the weather is like there in November.? How does it compare to Cancun (only place in Mx we've been so far)? Also, reading some info on individual resorts on Expedia, it seems like you can't swim in the ocean because of strong undertows??

We are so confused!!! Oh well, we can just keep stretching this all out and enjoy it while it lasts--we're in no rush smile72.gifwoot.gif(besides getting annoyed at everyone asking us when and where!!! (understandably so))

weather is great in nov. cabo doesnt really have a hurricane season like cancun. cancun weather is more humid as cabo is in the dessert. very little rain in cabo.

cabo is more expensive than cancun and pv. and yes, most of the beaches are not swimmable...the ones that are, are not like the beaches in jamaica or cancun area.

weather in Cabo and Puerto Vallarta is going to be very similar in November - very nice and not too hot (usually).

You are right about the undertows - there are a few resorts where you can swim in the ocean but not a lot in Cabo.

Cabo is great! That's where I am getting married and for the following reasons-

It's not as expensive for our guest to fly there compared to let's say Cancun. ( I think it's like a couple hundred dollar difference+, which can really add up).

The weather is pretty much great year round except in the summer when it can reach the 90's and sometimes the 100's (but even then it really isn't that bad).

There are storms from July-August, but I hear they aren't as bad as other places in Mexico.

It's still popular amongst the young spring breakers, but not as bad as cancun.

You may not be able to swim in the ocean, but all the resorts have pools and you would be too busy with wedding details to have time to swim at the beach anyway.

The area is a little bit more high end, hence it's more expensive than other places in Mexico.

Plenty of good restaurants from expensive French restaurants to taco stands and awesome hotels. Plus, there is also a Costco and Wal Mart nearby if you need supplies.

If you want to avoid the tourist traps and young spring breakers, then I would suggest San Jose Del Cabo, which is a few minutes away from Cabo. It's still touristy, but not as congested.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
